Cora’s Point of View
A sudden jolt woke me up. I could sense I was inside some vehicle. It was taking sharp turns now and then. I could hardly hear traffic. I fought to open my eyes, but failed miserably. My limbs were heavy. I could hardly move any finger. What did he do to me? What were his intentions? I was just a regular girl. Neither I had the money nor I was famous. Also, I could not think of offending anyone.
Someone I would love to meet! Who that could be?
My mind became fuzzy. With time, slowly, my body regained its consciousness. I opened my eyes only to find myself inside a very expensive car. The ones like Austin drove. It was a limited edition. Quickly I got up from my position only to realise something wasn’t quite right.
My heart was pounding. Suddenly something stirred inside me. A hot, uncomfortable sensation built up in my stomach. My throat was dry as ever. I need water. Maybe a gallon of water to quench my thirst.
“Look who’s awake! Just at the right moment,” that man in the black suit spoke in a lazy voice.
The car stopped in front of some luxurious hotel. I tried to read the name but all I could see the bright light and hazy letters. It was giving me a headache. I shut my eyes tightly, trying to focus. That man opened the door for me and dragged me out of the car.
“Come on. I know you can walk,” he spoke again, clenching on my arm tightly.
“What…. do you… want?” My voice was hoarse. I needed water.
“You’ve messed up enough with his head. It’s time to see what he really wants,” he muttered.
“Let go of me.” I tried to wiggle from his grasp, but it was impossible for me to even stand without his support.
“What… what did you… injected…” I couldn’t finish my sentence. I was burning for some reason.
“Don’t you wanna know?” He smirked. That bastard! Just let me regain my strength. I would make him pay for this. I would kick him so hard in between his legs, he would never be able to man up again.
He hauled me towards the entrance. I saw security standing there. I saw him as my last chance.
“Please, help me…” I shouted with all my strength, though my voice was nothing more than a whisper.
The security guard looked at me once and then turned his head instantly as if he had seen nothing. That man heaved me into the elevator and then led me to a dark room. I had never felt so helpless in my entire life. He threw me on the bed and left the room, closing the door.
Was it unlocked? I didn’t know since I was left with no energy. I could hardly move. And above all, these uncomfortable sensations weren’t doing any good. I needed water. A lot of water! What did they want from me?
The door opened again, and a frustrating voice boomed in my ears, “it’s better to be good, Antonio.”
My heart skipped a beat at hearing the voice. I could recognise it anywhere, anytime, even after millions of years. He turned on the light, unveiling that devilishly handsome face that I hated most. A tear escaped from my eye. It was indeed him. That obnoxious, narcissistic, rude, arrogant, as*whole. Lorenzo Bernardi.
“Cora,” he exclaimed. His gesture was uncertain.
I loved him once with my everything. I trusted him. But he broke my heart. I was nothing but a plaything. Wasn’t it enough humiliation for me? What did he want this time? To humiliate me more!
Lorenzo’s Point of View
A long shower calmed my nerves. Finally, I had eliminated all those threats and had cut all those threads that could reach out to Cora. All these started three years ago when I came to this same city for Austin and Daniel’s marriage. They were close to me, especially Austin. He knew many secrets of mine and I trusted him with my everything. Little did I know that his wedding would cost me that much.
I met Cora for the first time in Rodriguez' mansion. She was different from all those other girls. Not so clingy, but cute in her own way. Everything happened so fast while she was around. I sighed, remembering how I was forced to end every single hope I could see in the relation. I didn’t even say goodbye, and I left.
I thought I would get over it. How wrong was I! Three f*cking years and I still could feel her lips on mine. God knew how I would face her tomorrow.
I stopped the water and dried myself. Then found a comfortable pair of sweatpants. I was planning to retire, but as usual, that i***t showed up. Without even knocking, he entered my room.
“What do you want?” I groaned in frustration.
“Tired, brother? I had a special surprise for you.” He winked, giving me a bad vibe.
“What have you done this time?” I asked him in annoyance. I was really not in the mood of joking around.
“Just follow me! You will love my arrangement, trust me.” He grinned.
Exhaling deeply to calm my self, I followed him. He took me to a room on the same floor. Was that about a girl? God, I really wasn’t in a mood.
I warned him again in frustration, “it’s better to be good, Antonio.”
I turn on the lights, and my world turned upside down. Cora! It was her, laying on the bed. She didn’t look good.
“Cora!” I exclaimed, trying to hold back my urges, my emotions, and my everything.
A tear rolled down on her cheek as she whispered, “jerk.” She closed her eyes as if I was the last thing she ever wanted to see. There was disgust, hatred, and much more. Her expression wounded me deeply.
I lost my composure, seeing her like that. Turning back, I punched that moron with all my strength, “are you f*cking out of your mind?”
“D*mn, that hurts.” He wiped his blood that was oozing out of his nose as he grumbled.
“You deserve that.” I made my way towards Cora. My palm touched her skin softly. She was burning like hell.
“Water,” she mumbled.
“God, Cora.” I took the glass from the bedside table and pour some water into that. Holding her up in my arms, I made her drink the water. She wasn’t the girl I knew once. So fragile and vulnerable. She even didn’t have any strength to move a finger. Her head was leaned against my chest. Her burning cheeks were touching my naked torso.
“You’ll be okay,” I whispered, placing a soft kiss on her forehead, then laid her on the bed.
She looked a little comfortable after gulping that water. Still, her skin was burning, and it wasn’t doing any good to me either.
“What the hell have you given her?” I yelled again.
“Aphrodisiac… a strong one, bro. Just wait till it shows the actual effect,” Antonio replied, and I lost my mind.
I punched him again, and then pinned him against the wall, “you f*cking get the antidote of whatever you have done. Else I will make you regret.”
“Come on, Lorenzo, just sleep with her and get over it. Isn’t that what you want?” He yelled.
I stopped at his question. Yes, I wanted to devour every inch of her, but not like that. No f*cking way I would never sleep with a drugged woman. Especially when it was her.
“Get the hell out of here and get some medicine for her,” I ordered, leaving that mutt.
“Here, it will soothe the discomfort.” Antonio threw a packet towards me. Pills.
“Enjoy your night with sister-in-law,” that i***t winked again, before leaving the room wasting no moment. That moron had already anticipated the situation.
I made my way towards Cora again. I doubt she was in her senses. Slanting against the bedframe, I pulled her against my chest. Her little frame on me. She rubbed her face against my chest. Maybe the cold feeling was soothing for her. Her small palm was placed on my chest. She was snivelling. I hated to watch her like that, but couldn’t deny that the feeling was divine, her in my arms.
Taking the glass again, I feed her the pill. The water slipped from her lips and travelled from her chin to her neck and finally touched her cleavage. The plan of taking a cold shower to calm my nerves was off the table, watching her perfectly shaped bosom, being little exposed from the t-shirt she was wearing, showing just enough to make me hungry. And she, rubbing her face on my chest, wasn’t helping the situation.
“Lo…ren…zo,” she moaned.
My eyes fell on her little red nose and then those pouty lips that I still couldn’t forget. With her every little move, she was triggering the lust I was trying hard to keep inside, for three d*mn years.
“F*ck, Cora,” I grouched.
Unable to hold back, I claimed her lips. Just to taste them once again. That softness, that sweet flavour. It was just the same as before. I felt as if nothing had changed in these three years. And above all, her scent. That mild fragrance she always used to wear. It was still there, mingling with mine.
Suddenly I felt her tears on my lips. I pulled back to look into her eyes. The only thing I could see was sadness and hatred. She was fighting hard to shove me away. She was gaining her senses.
“Don’t… touch… me,” she mumbled in a guttural voice.
I let her go immediately. She crawled on the other side of the bed. Her eyes were still on me. She spoke again, “you… disgust me.”
Her words stabbed my heart. How dare her to speak that way? Did she have any idea what I had gone through in the last three years? How much people's blood was in my hands just to keep her safe and sound!
“Go… away… Lorenzo,” she mumbled again, trying to stand up this time.
I reached out for her quickly, before she could fall. I embraced her again, but she pushed me with all her means, “go to… your… girlfriend… the love… of… your… life.”
Her words stabbed me again. Love of My Life? My girlfriend. All that brought back the memory of what happened three years ago. She knew about her. She knew everything. Now I could see why she was disgusted. I owed her an explanation, but the time wasn’t right. She needed to be sober.
“You are not in very good shape, Cora, for a discussion like this,” I told her as calmly as possible.
She laughed at my words as if I had cracked the funniest joke of the century, “wasn’t that what… you wanted? Your people drugged me…”
I cursed Antonio under my breath. That i***t.
“I’ll explain everything tomorrow.” I tried to take her shaky hand in mine.
“I don’t need any explanation, Lorenzo. I have moved on… I’m happy… without you,” she mumbled. Her breathing became heavy again. She was sweating like anything. D*mn this woman would be the end of me.
I could sense she was losing herself again. I forcefully made her lay down and then called Antonio.
“Get your ass here with a doctor. You have five minutes.” I hung up, concentrating on Cora again. It hadn’t been even twelve hours since I had landed here and look at the mess that i***t had created already. Why did I even consider coming here?
