Dogan's POV
I opened my eyes and looked to my left to find a beautiful woman…my beautiful woman. Her face was lying over my shoulder as she holds me sleeping deep.
I removed hair from her face to only be awed by her beauty. It was still very early in the morning but I knew at any moment someone will come to wake us up. She groaned before sobbing in her sleep. A smile stretched on my mouth. I knew she was very sore from the last time. But we two didn’t have the time to see each other as lovers. Making sure that she gets pregnant was a necessity. But falling for her wasn’t a great task. This fragile woman could snatch anyone’s heart.
“Wake up,” I whispered and she stirs in her sleep before opening her eyes.
“I want to sleep.” She whispered before her eyes got widen. She blinked looking at me and I got excited at how she got her cheeks red. Last night, there wasn’t much light but now I wanted to see her. I wanted to see all of her. I could tell she was very different from all the women I have ever seen. I got over her to kiss her deeply. She groaned before returning my kiss. Her hand on my face and hair could tell me how much she was all mine post that ritual. And, this bond was only going to strengthen with time. I traced my hand to her thighs to pull her even close.
“Is my queen all ready to leave with me?” She looked at me surprised before nodding her head in yes. I looked at her hand that she placed on my shoulder. This made me look at her fingers. These were very thin. Was she even a human?
She held my cheek from the same hand and motioned me to look at her. I stared at her jaw. I wonder if I have seen any human with such perfect features. But then, she was a Saka’s woman. And, they are indeed very famous for pretty women. But then, they are also known for having shy women too. But looks like not every statement is true about them.
“What are you looking at?” She asked,
“Nothing, just wondering how my son will be very handsome?” I saw something passing her face but she was quick to give me a smile. I lowered to taste her mouth and heard from outside.
“King…” I heard Jaha from outside. It was very early in the morning but the time has come. I pulled away but she only kissed me harder. I knew if anything this woman will always be loyal to me.
I pulled away and got up to wrap myself. I walked ahead to leave when I heard a groan. Looking at my back I got still. She was standing naked. She seemed a little disoriented and I get to her side to hold her but her beautifully carved body was all I could see. She was ethereal.
“Are you fine?” I asked holding her arm.
She pressed her lips and held my wrist nodding her head. “I am…fine. Where were you going?” I looked at her legs and there was dried blood.
“I am leaving…Don’t worry, someone will come to help you out. Until then, stay in the bed.” I said and helped her to sit.
I took steps to the exit when I heard her again. “Don’t go,” I knew she was weak.
“I don’t want to say it but this is what you should expect. I…won’t be here with you all the time. You will learn to live like this. Don’t worry.” I said before getting out and didn’t look at her. Two women were waiting outside and I recognized them as my mother’s assistant. I knew they are here to get all the details. I gestured with my hand to let them making Jaha say,
“The feast was great. The chief is there to see you. We are all ready to leave.” I nodded twisting my mouth and asked,
“I hope it wasn’t very hard.”
“Of course, it was…I mean,…they expect us to stay here for two days. But I knew you will prefer to stay with your people. Nobody knows when we will be able to return.”
“You are right.” I wonder how she will live without me but I knew I wasn’t supposed to give this matter much thought. They say it is always hard to leave your half but if she is safe the anxiety lessens. And, it’s not like she will be alone. She might have my son to pass her time.
We went to see the chief who was standing with our much-respected noble from the Taseen tribe. His name was Raheek and he was also the next in becoming the chief of the Taseen tribe. He had helped us twice but both of the times it wasn’t much needed. Of course, I only accept gifts from them because he was from the Taseen tribe and also he was called my uncle without any ties of blood.
“Here comes my dragon,” Raheek says making the chief smile too.
“Thank you for your hospitality. Also, for trusting us to give me a bride.” The chief smiled and was about to say something when Raheek added,
“You are kidding, right? It is their fortune that you chose the bride from here.” This made the chief look at him before he said, “Our tribe has the pride to offer more than four hundred brides to Dragons. And, of course, we plan to give one to your son too in the future.”
“Haha, seems like you are not satisfied with what Dogan has offered so far.” Of course, what else we can expect from Raheek. Whatever I offered them for the bride was their right by customs. And, I didn’t give it to my bride exactly. It was to show off how much Kalph was able to offer for the bride. To tell the others who we are.
I offered Raheek a very tight smile hoping he gets the gesture before shaking my hand with the chief. “And, I expect that we will observe the loyalty for each other.”
The Saka tribe was an independent territory but was much influential with their daughters married to the most powerful. And, with this bond, they were securing the ties with my country Kalph. Though they are independent they can’t be called a country or state. Because they don’t have any sea with their lands. And, Kalph was a proud country with three different seas bordering them.
Chief followed us until I reached my horse. Only a few yards away in the very tight security two palanquins were resting. Those two were for my mother and grandmother while the third one had a red cloth covering it.
We only waited for a few minutes before I saw the women coming out. My grandmother stopped for a moment to hold me in a hug while my mom stayed beside Shia who looked amazing in the same dress as Kalph women. Her thin fingers that I have come to like a lot were hidden in her very long sleeves but her head was adorned with the design of our sign now.
She looked around as if looking for something and I stared at her until her eyes met mine. She didn’t look away and that tells me what her eyes were looking for. She had to learn to be strong and without me. But something tells me that it was going to be a lot of difficult for her.
Kate’s POV
It feels like hours since we left the tribe. I had the stone in my hand. I had tucked it under our pillow last night. And, with the last night, I could not help but recall how strong the pull is when he is close to me. My hands yearn to touch him, to feel him and hold him close. I knew it was because of that stupid ritual but I was in love with this mythical barbarian. I wonder what makes him so rude to me all of a sudden. He was nothing like that when he wanted to have his way with me last night. He…he sounded very…romantic how he talked about us being the other’s half.
The horses and animals here had long necks. The horses had long necks, thinner legs and seemed very sharp. I observed more seeing a small horse made of clay that my grandmother handed me before I left. I didn’t have one person to call my family and here one whole tribe was giving me away at my wedding. The one who is somehow my own given my ancestor Shia belongs to this tribe too. I was just like other women in this tribe who were crowned most beautiful even after thousands of years.
I wonder how long I will have to embarrass myself by showing him my desperation for him. And,…what if it is permanent. I stared at the scar on my hand that was attempted to be cleaned by women still pained, burned and hurt like hell.
I leaned into the wall of the palanquin and removing a little from the window saw how wonderful the scenery was. It was after the afternoon when we reached our destination. I could tell from all the roaring. We were being welcomed and from the sound of it, I could tell there were many.
After a while, all of the noise lessened and my palanquin was lowered to the ground. I found his mother who came to help me out of the palanquin.
“I know you must be very tired.” Tired…I don’t know. I wonder how I was still alive.
“Do you want to sleep?” She asked as she guided me through the beautiful interior. The ceilings were high and with high I mean super high and I wondered how they clean them. Everything was made of stone and that makes me recall Tiara saying how his palace was carved in a mountain.
“I know…even if you don’t tell me I know it must have been hard for you. I am taking you to your room and you can sleep all you want. But you need to wave for the people once. I hope you can do this much. They had been waiting all day…and, Dogan will never let them down.”
His people…I guess he only cares about his people. And, I don’t know but even the thought that he cares about something other than me was enough to shoot my anxiety. I wonder why is it so. If this kept going on how I was supposed to return. How? I…I needed to figure it out. Because it can’t be real. It was induced in me without my consent. And, I shouldn’t be ok with this but why the thought of him leaving for the war seemed to trouble me more than how I was drugged to yearn for him.
