Chapter 5: Arrogance

Dinner went smoothly except King Orion has decided not to grace us with his presence. King Leo apologized for that. Except shrugging it off, there was nothing else I could do. I was annoyed but no woman was to chase a man around. I acted as if it was totally fine so that King Leo wouldn't feel bad. He certainly didn't deserve to feel that way.  "I would like to have a look around" I told Julian.  "Would you like me to show you around?" he asked me.  "No, Thank you. I will be good on my own" I smiled. Julian bowed his head then walked away with his smile glued on his face. I turned my attention to Sarah who was patiently waiting behind me with her hands crossed behind her back.  "I guess you want some time alone?" She guessed. I nodded before taking in a deep breath. The sudden feeling of overwhelm was taking in my whole mind all at once.  "I would like to work out a little bit, to be honest" I admitted.  "Right now?" She asked in surprise. I nodded.  "Yeah. Go rest a little bit. I am going to change then I will try to find the training room. I will most probably see you tomorrow" I sighed. Sarah unwillingly yawned then quickly put her hand in front of her mouth. The tiredness could be seen on her face. I rolled my lips in my mouth before chuckling.  "The lobster tail and other good food is making me feel very heavy and sleepy" She yawned again.  "Then go rest, Sarah" I laughed. "I will see you tomorrow" she waved at me before walking away while humming a song.  "Wait" she suddenly said before turning to look at me. "Why aren't you coming along? You're going to change, right?" She questioned.  "I am going to have a look at the training room first, then I will go change. Don't worry about me" I assured. She rolled her eyes at my words. The lighting in the room was making her blond hair shine a tint of gold.  "I am your lady-in-charge. It is my duty to worry about you, Queen Amara" She joked. I dismissed her with a wave then started making my way in the other direction. I remembered seeing a few people in their training outfits going in the west wing of the castle. I instinctively walked onto the corridor. There were big photographs hung on the walls. The thing that was very unlikely was that, there were no pictures of the royals hung. They were all pictures of greeneries.  Plants seem to be very important here. The obsession was real. This castle was very intriguing and there seemed to be something mysterious about it. There was something that was attracting. The huge vases with climbing plants that were crawling over the walls. The air here was fresher here. I pushed open the first door to find an immense swimming pool.  Indoor swimming pool, huh?  I quickly closed it then strolled to the next door while humming a song. I opened the door, then peaked inside to see a library. At least I know that there's a place where I will be able to spend my time if the King Orion keeps in ignoring me. I closed the door then moved to the next one. This room was the right on. Several exercise machines and gym equipment were in that room. There was a big space where I would be able to practice my fighting skills. With all the frustration that was building in, It was the perfect place for me to go. I darted to my room. I noticed that the suitcases were nowhere to be seen.  The maids must have unpacked my clothes and accessories. I walked to the walk-in robe. My clothes were well arranged. My jewelries were beautiful placed on the big table that was right in the middle of the walk-in robe. My shoes were perfectly aligned on the side shelves. I raise my eyebrows in admiration. Without any difficulty, I found my grey sweatpants and a black tank top that I was comfortable in. I took my jewelries off then I tied my hair in a high ponytail before wiping my make up off. I slipped in my training clothes then sighed in relief. These clothes were so comfortable.  Soon, I was strolling back to the training room. Lucky for me, when I got there, It was still empty. I made my way to the punching back. I stared at the boxing gloves then rolled my eyes. I have never put the boxing gloves on whenever I would practice my fighting skills. No one has the time to put boxing gloves on if a fight occur.  While I started doing some stretching, my mind started wandering off. I was questioning my decisions. I have never had a boyfriend in my entire life and here I was, giving myself away for marriage to a complete stranger. I rolled my eyes at myself. This was something that I have brought upon myself.  But again, who knows?  Maybe King Orion was a sweetheart and i was letting my overthinking mind put me in a bad situation.   My attention shifted to the punching bag after I was done stretching. The next thing I knew, I was punching it with all my strength. I threw a cross right at the punching bag with my right hand. Then I threw a few jabs while practicing my ducking. With my right knee, I hit the target, holding the bag in place so that it wouldn't move. Boxing was pretty easy for me. It was something that was running in my vein. I breathed in and out while jabbing the punching bag. I could feel the sweat start running on the side of my face.  When the door burst open, I stopped. The punching bag was right in front of me, blocking the view of the door. I tilted my head to the side, while pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear. That was when I caught sight of my hands. My knuckles were slightly bruised but it was nothing I was new too. Upon hearing the footsteps, I turned my attention by to the person who just walked in.  "Hell" I sighed to myself as my eyes fell on the most beautiful human that I have ever seen. He strutted in while holding a towel in his hand. He had no shirt on. He was wearing a black sweatpants. He was very well built. I watched as he brought the towel to his forehead and wiped it. His muscles on his arm budge, making me unwillingly gulp. What the hell was I doing? His well-trimmed beard screamed for me to run my fingers in them. I felt like a stalker, hiding behind a punching bag to ogle at the man who just walked in. "Amara stop" I plead myself. It was very difficult for me to tear my eyes off him. I coughed as I turned my attention back to the punching bag.  "What are you doing here?" A manly voice demanded. I tilted my head again to look at the owner of voice to make sure that it was me that he was talking to. I moved away from the punching bag. The man's eyes skimmed over my body before settling on my face. I rose one of my eyebrows, questioning the tone that he just used while speaking to me.  "What does it look like?" I asked with a frown. He kept quiet. He must be one of the guards working here.  "I have never seen you around here" he literally grumbled. I tried to ignore his tone then focused on him. I shrugged my shoulders while looking at him.  "Now you are" I said nonchalantly.  "Are you new here?" He demanded. I ignored the sight of the little sweat that was dripping on his shoulder blade. It was the first time I could feel my inside clenching at the sight of a man. My hormones were turning their back on me. They wanted me to surrender my body to him. They wanted his hands to be the one handling each and every parts of me.  "I came today" I answered. I sounded breathless. I sounded like someone who was in need of s*x. The envy and want that was swimming in his eyes, told me clearly that my body was attracting him. Would it be wrong to have s*x with someone before marrying The King of Phoenix.  "Where do you come from?" He asked me.  "Kingdom of Lyra" I responded politely.  "You came with the Queen of Lyra?" He asked. I nodded my head. I decided to pretend that I was not the Queen.  "Queen Amara" I told him.  "I don't care" He muttered. He walked to me. The way his eyes were scrutinizing me, I felt like he was studying each and every moves of mine. I couldn't bring myself to look at the floor. My eyes remained locked on his. I was not going to bow to him. He seemed to have a strong male ego and it was defying each single cell of my body. 'What's your name?" he demanded as soon as he was standing in front of me. I rose my eyebrows then inhaled to calm my raging hormones.  "Does it matter?" I asked him.  "Not really" He grumbled.  Well, that was one moody man.  "You may leave now" The handsome but moody man ordered with a gentle wave of his hands. He was dismissing me. This time I was the one who scoffed in disbelief. He certainly must be holding a higher grade among the guards to be behaving so arrogantly.  "I may also not take your arrogance into consideration but I will. Don't ever disrespect me or else" I snapped but he quickly stopped me by putting his hand in front of me as if to tell me to shut up. The formality in my tone could clearly show that I was of Royal Blood. It was something natural. I may be a very open-minded Queen but when it comes to seriousness, I could be very serious. I had one of my eyebrows rose up, appalled by the fact that he dared to interrupt me.  "Is that a threat?" He questioned with a humourless chuckle. I chuckled back, mimicking him.  "It's not a threat. It's a promise" I whispered slowly but loud enough for him to hear.  "What's your grade?" He demanded while crossing his arms over his chest.  "That's none of your business" I told him casually. This time, he clenched his jaws then moved so quickly to me that I didn't even have time to react. He grabbed my chin, then forced it up for me to look into his eyes. I could see anger in his eyes. His jaws were clenched so hard. A breath escaped my lips. I was not excepting him to touch me. He had such a tight grip of my chin that I knew that tomorrow I would get some fingerprints on my sensitive skin. I fixed his black intense eyes. His dark black hair was messy but he still managed to look very good.  "Don't ever f*****g disrespect me" He sneered in my face. With an eyeroll, I punched his wrist, taking him off guard. His hand let go of my chin. I took several steps backwards as I stared at him. He stared at his wrist before turning his attention to me. He most probably thought that I was the sort of damsel-in-distress type of woman.  Hell No. "Don't ever dare talk about respect" I sneered back. "You've got none, Mr I-don't-know-who" I snapped. "I will make sure to let your King know about how arrogant and assholic some of his people are" I told him calmly as I crossed my arms over my chest while glaring at him. He seemed to be amused by my words. I felt defied. I felt as if he was challenging me. It was the first time my patience was running low. Even with Tyrus, I never felt that much frustrated. A person clearing his throat caught our attention. I turned my attention to look at Julian standing by the door. His back was straight and his hands were behind his back. Discipline seemes to be an important aspect in this kingdom. How come this arrogant specimen seemed to have none?   "Your presence is being requested by the King" Julian announced, his words directed to the man who was standing lazily in front of me. He gave a curt nod, pushed his towel further up his shoulder then gave me one last dirty look before walking away. As he walked pass Julian, the latter went all rigid. If he could straighten his back even more, he would. Soon when the man disappeared, I stared at Julien while crossing my arms.  "I would like to know the name of that man, Julian" I demanded after drinking a gulp of water. I had the firm intention to inform the King Leo about the kindness of some of his guards. Julian's eyes widened.  "That was King Orion, Queen Amara" I nearly choked on my water upon hearing this.  If this was King Orion, I was doomed.
