Prologue Part One
Ten Years, Three Months and Seventeen days ago
The black expanse of the pacific ocean spread out as far as the eye could see, the small waves highlighted by the glistening full moon which lit up the sky. The black dingy silently bobbed in the water, as four men sat dressed head to toe in black waited patiently for their orders. You would feel totally at peace, the silence only broken by the lapping water, but this was far from a peaceful situation, the group of men all soldiers the elite forces of the Special Boat Service were silently poised ready to strike.
Nobody spoke, silence was key to the mission way out in the middle of nowhere, as they waited for the command that would come. As the water splashed against the boat, the men all readied themselves to take on this mission, the objective was to board the vessel that had been terrorised these waters, by the modern day pirates, who had taken control of a British Cargo ship, that was currently anchored out at sea, the captain already killed and the pirates held the rest of the crew captive, forcing them to sail off course to a remote piece of land, so that they could plunder the ships cargo.
“Go, go, go” Jason ‘Woof’ Collie heard in his earpiece as the small silent dingy turned into a speed boat, and the engine roared into action heading to the coordinates that had been previously given by the captain of HMS Ocean.
In the distance, you could hear the sound of another four of the small speed boats as they also reaved up their engines all heading for the same destination with the same goal. Rescue the ship, and the crew, and save the cargo from the pirates and smugglers.
Adrenaline pumped through Woofs veins, as they neared their target to fulfil the objective, this was his job, this was his life, an adrenaline junkies dream, his work filled with very real danger, and when he was finished his work, he would return home back to Plymouth and into the loving arms of Susan, his adoring wife, the woman that held his heart in her hands.
Over head you could hear the whirring of the helicopters, as they set off, each holding a team of six SAS soldiers, who had joined forces for this one mission, Woof concentrated on navigating his boat, then throwing his line he climbed out of the dinghy up the side of the cargo ship, as his brothers in arms zipped down the lines from the choppers, landing on deck, the landing timed to perfection.
The gun fire echoed through the night sky, as Woof and his band of brothers took back control of the ship, it was a flawless mission, executed to perfection, and soon he would be heading home, earlier than he had anticipated.
“Susan, I am coming home babe” Woof whispered into the night sky, relief that he had once again survived in the dangerous world he lived in and would return to his beloved girl.
