I trembled as the Trios' eyes bore into mine.
I expected ridicule and rejection, but instead, they all gazed at me with a fierce intensity.
I didn't know who to look at; all of their eyes made my heart race and my thoughts dizzying.
I dropped my eyes.
"Ariella?" Heath's voice was laced with disbelief.
Warrick's eyes narrowed, stepping towards me, and for the first time, he knelt before me.
I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as he touched my face, pulling me gently to my feet.
He caressed my face, the warmth and feeling of safety it brought...I found myself nuzzling his hand, his eyes burning with a possessive fire. "Ours," he growled, his voice low and husky.
Heath and Sebastian closed in, their movements synchronized as they flanked me as they had earlier.
I felt trapped, yet...safe.
"Little wolf," Heath whispered, his breath tickling my ear as his hand glided across my waist, pulling me gently into his chest.
I whimpered at the name, unsure if he meant it as a taunt or...if he was endearing me with a nickname.
Warrick's eyes tightened, seeming to understand. "We're sorry we've been so cruel." He looked over my face, his thumb stroking my jaw absently. "You've always smelt so...good." His voice came out rough as he inhaled my scent again, now stronger and more defined. His eyes shone black, a small growl rising and I panicked, scrambling out of their holds and ran across the room.
I found myself in a ball, pressed into the corner of Sebastian's bed.
I shouldn't have taken a sharp inhale.
The scents that mingled on it...my mates and another woman.
My Wolf whined in agony, my chest feeling like it was cleaved in two. Tears welled in my eyes and I tried to move them away, knowing I looked pathetic and childish.
Sebastian moved with Alpha speed and finesse; he yanked the blankets and sheets off, and I squeaked in surprise, his eyes snapping to me, concerned, curling the blankets around his large arm and strode to his window.
I blinked, watching him throw it open and toss the bundle of fabric right out the window.
He turned to look at me, his chest heaving with anger and the moonlight shone off his tanned skin, rippling muscles and bright eyes, watching me with a mix of emotions on his face.
He took a step towards me, my Wolf begging me to go to him.
He didn't know. None of them did...Go to him. Let him show you. Her voice echoed mine, deeper and stronger, surprising me. Usually, Omega Wolves were soft-spoken and not demanding.
It was also the first time she'd spoken.
My body moved when Sebastian took another step towards me, his eyes pleading.
I crawled to the edge of the bed, our eyes locked.
Growls filled the room and I froze, my eyes snapping to see Heath and Warrick staring at me.
The bloodied now-scar across my thigh and hip, my completely naked body crawling.
I blushed, moving to cover myself.
Warrick tugged his shirt off, striding to me while he fixed it. "Arms up, little one." He grunted at me, his voice gravel.
I obeyed, seeing their expressions soften as Warrick dressed me.
He leaned down, pressing his fists into the mattress and pinned me with an Alpha's stare.
"T-thank you, Alpha," I whispered, my voice small.
His eyes tightened. "Warrick," he corrected.
I tried to shake my head, panic filling me.
A memory of the one time I'd called him Warrick...
He'd almost bitten me, claiming only his mate was allowed to address him so personally. If I did it again, he'd mark me as an Alpha's toy.
His hand gripped my chin, stopping me from running away, seeing the same memory.
"We'll make it up to you, Ari. We're so sorry for everything we did. Please, don't reject us yet."
I trembled, unsure what to make of their sudden behaviour change. In them or me.
The words fell out of me. "You want me?"
All of their expressions turned, mixes of hurt, longing and anger.
Heath spoke first. "I know I do."
My eyes met his, seeing he'd stayed back near the doorway, watching me with a soft expression.
My heart tore. "You...the necklace.." I couldn't work out what I was trying to say.
Heath's eyes widened, his head snapping to his brothers. "About that..." I'd never seen Heath's expression so violent, his jaw setting as he gritted out. "She was almost ambushed by the Grey Hound Delta's and Beta."
Warrick didn't release me. "You got her the warning." He said, his voice unsurprised.
"You knew?" I whispered, fear gripping me. Had they planned it?
Sebastian's expression turned icy. "Only that we knew some of them had spoken about going there." He looked at Warrick, still in front of me holding my chin. "We'll handle it tomorrow at the morning meeting."
Warrick seemed to ignore him, searching my expression. "You need sleep, little wolf." He said finally, making me blink. A small smirk pulled at his lips. "Who's room are you sleeping in?"
Without hesitation, both Heath and Sebastian replied. "Mine." They glared at each other, a shine of possession being shared.
Warrick gave a small growl, looking over his shoulder at them both.
They fell silent, ducking their eyes, realising he wasn't asking them.
They muttered a sorry....to me.
Warrick ignored them, stroking my cheek and pushing my hair back, his eyes falling on me. "Where do you want to sleep, baby?" He asked, a smirk on his lips again as my mind raced.
I couldn't wrap my head around sleeping in Sebastian's room...not while it smelt like another woman... And being in either Heath's or Warrick's....my stomach tightened and I blushed.
Sebastian's grin turned to tease, smelling my arousal at my own thoughts.
Another reason his room was off limits until I could stop the devilish thoughts his smirk brought to me.
I looked away, an answer finally spilling from me. "My room."
They all narrowed their brows in disapproving.
Warrick sighed, reaching out and I was suddenly in his arms.
I squeaked, looking up at him, but he ignored me.
Getting to his feet, he tucked me in close, walking for the door.
He stopped for a moment at Sebastian's open closet, grabbed out a folded-up jumper and continued out of the room.
Ignoring Heath and Sebastian calling out to him, asking what the f**k he was doing.
He continued walking, his head high and his eyes set down the hallway.
I found myself curling into him; his warmth and comfort were incredibly soothing; I started to fall asleep.
"Hey, little wolf?" Warrick's deep chuckle woke me, making me look around to see I was sitting on the sink of his ensuite.
He had a pair of sweats and a pair of socks waiting beside me along with Sebastian's jumper.
He stepped away, seeing I was awake and cupped my cheek. "Have a shower. Let me check your leg, and then we'll walk you to your room, okay?"
I blinked but nodded. "Yes, Alpha."
He scowled at me, but left me in the bathroom, closing the door behind him silently.
I scowled back through the closed door.
I used the showers in the training field gym, why should he be surprised I'm not going to start calling him Warrick?
Just because he was my mate didn't mean he and his brothers hadn't spent the last three years bullying, teasing and belittling me. That this whole place hadn't gone out of its way to remind me of my status amongst the Pack.
I was almost thankful they'd left me alone as a kid, though everyone did.
No one cared about Orphan Ari.
The only people who ever showed they cared were my adoptive family, Beta Zane, his wife Reyne and their twin sons, Elijah and Jackson - they were my best friends, the next Betas of our Pack. They raised and protected me after my parents had died in a car accident. Beta Zane was the current Beta of our Pack, a proud and protective man, he'd kept me out of harm's way or taught me to protect myself well enough against it.
I was his best unshifted fighter, his excitement to see my abilities after my Shift was a common talking point during our private training sessions twice a week, often joined by Eli and Jack.
A small smile grew on my face.
Maybe I could finally join the others. Show them how well the Beta boys had taught me.
I showered quickly, not letting the surroundings or the wonderful smell of hazelnuts distract me.
I hesitated when I stepped out, realising Warrick hadn't left me a towel.
There was only his, though untouched, it felt odd using it.
I went to just start dressing when a small knock came at the door.
I expected it to just open, but after a moment of nothing, the knock came again.
Warrick's voice called, pitched with concern. "Ari? Are you okay, baby?"
My heart fluttered... he never called me Ari.
I stepped to the door, opening it enough Warrick could see me.
I blushed, seeing him smirk at me. "I-I need a towel-" Warrick lifted a fluffy pink towel into view, a small embarrassed chuckle leaving him as I realised it was my towel.
"I thought you'd prefer yours," He said simply as I took it.
"Thank you," I muttered, taking it and closing the door quickly, overcome with the need to show affection.
Like taking him in my mouth on the bathroom floor.
I hissed at my Wolf, telling her to keep her dirty thoughts to herself.
She denied me, in an all too chipper attitude that smelt like trouble.
Great, my Wolf was an arrogant Omega.
She snarled at me, making me giggle to myself as I dried and then dressed.
A jumper of Sebastian's, pants of Heaths and Warrick's shirt and socks. All of them were enormous on my small body, but they were incredibly snug and smelt like the most amazing, serene escape.
I finally exited the bathroom, finding the triplets sitting around Warrick's bed in the corner of the room.
Warrick was the only one standing. Sebastian laid back with his legs bent over the edge, and Heath was resting his arms on his knees, wringing his hands together.
They all looked at me, making me freeze on instinct.
I clasped my hands together and ducked my eyes, remembering Warrick's list.
I shyly pulled the hem of the jumper up and tugged the side of my waist pants down, turning to show him my side.
I squeaked as hands suddenly grabbed me.
Warrick was crouched at my hip, his hands moving the clothing to examine the healing scars.
Sebastian and Heath watched me from his bed, their eyes dark and waiting for their brother's damage assessment.
I shivered when his fingers trailed the claw marks, a small smile playing on his lips as he glanced up at me, seeing me bite my lip.
"It'll be back to perfect by morning," he purred, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to my hip.
A whimpered left me, a desire to flood me at his touch as he kissed again.
I moved away, my Wolf snarling at me when I saw the hurt look in Warrick's eyes, his hands lowering slowly.
He watched me, raising to his feet, his eyes pinning me with a swirl of determination and possession. "Heath will walk you to your room," he gritted.
I flinched, unsure why, other than my Wolf begging me not to leave him, any of them.
I ducked my eyes, bit my lip and forced a nod.
My Wolf cried, forcing herself to the surface enough she took control of my human body.
My voice came out deeper, but somehow still pitched and feminine. "I want to stay." She whined, moving toward the bed. I tried to stop her; a part of me was still terrified that this was a cruel joke.
They wanted to toy with me before they finally decided to reject me.
The brothers shared a look, their brows narrowing with emotions.
Heath slipped off the bed, reaching out for me.
My Wolf reached back, letting him take my hands and pull me into a comforting and gentle hug.
"We want you to stay," Heath's usually sweet voice came out rough, a dark edge that scared and excited me, his Wolf rising. He leaned back, looking at me with dark eyes, his hand pushing my hair from my face. "But, Ariella needs time...please give it to her, little wolf." He said to my Wolf, making a whine leave me.
Heath gave a small chuckle, tapping my chin. "Don't be impatient, we're not going anywhere." His grin was so convincing and charming, my heart softened and my Wolf released control so I could wrap my arms around him, burying my face into his chest.
He held me for a few moments, the warmth of Warrick and Sebastian suddenly surrounding me, their hands touching me softly.
"Come on, little one," Sebastian chuckled after a moment, making me raise my head and open my eyes, not realising I was falling asleep again.
I blinked sluggishly, Sebastian leaning down and chuckling, his nose brushing against mine.
I froze, my Wolf yipping as I realised he was nuzzling me.
I found myself letting go of Heath, only to wrap my arms around Sebastian's large shoulders, letting him pick me up and loop my legs around his waist.
He sighed contently, his arms circling my small waist as he hugged me. "You smell so good," he whispered against my neck, his nose trailing patterns as he smelt me.
I giggled sleepily, a lustful growl leaving Sebastian and he suddenly tugged my hair, making me look up at him.
His eyes were obsidian. "f**k, that noise is worse." His hips moved, his hand on my back moving to my ass and I felt the hardness of him pressed against me.
My eyes flared, finally realising what he meant.
His canines extended as he licked his lips, his eyes pinned to a spot of my neck.
