WILDER PUMPED A JET of pressurized gas out from her suit’s thrusters, lifting herself upward so she kept pace with Cherry as they rose through the vast interior of the space station. The embedded lines of the wall were passing swiftly in front of them. What were they? Pipes to convey water or another substance? Did they contain electrical wires? Were they structural, providing support for the massive construction? Wilder couldn’t guess and she knew she would never know, but focusing on the question distracted her from the feelings of panic that wearing the EVA suit were causing her.
