When Lexie opened her eyes the next morning, she felt completely different. Like she had just been born again, or something close to what she imagined being born felt like. She turned her eyes to the side to see light from the huge windows, and an empty bedside that still had the traces of Varden’s scent. Varden. That thought alone was enough to kill any remnant of sleep in her eyes and gave her sitting up as she tried to recall what had happened the previous night, and where am the heck she was.
