Hee-Man smiles genuinely at me. “Yes, I will escort you myself to Pyongyang, and from there it’s just a few formalities.” “What sort of formalities?” I ask. I don’t even care about the details. I can’t believe I’m on my way out of here. “You will be made to sign a confession. Very simple.” “And then I’ll be released?” “I should say so.” I’m so ecstatic I could hug him. I wonder how much Hee-Man had to do with advocating for my release. Was it our conversation about that photograph that changed his mind?
