CHAPTER 31 I don’t know exactly what I was expecting would happen once I got out of the SUV. I guess I figured that since I’m to spend my time here in a hard labor camp that I be handed some sort of pickax or shovel and set to work straight away. I failed to take into account that every country — dictatorship or not — has its own version of bureaucracy. Since no one around me speaks English, I’m left to guess at what’s being discussed.
