Evan was so happy; that he was meeting someone close with his father. Throughout the evening, he was giggling with laughter and trying to play with Roger. Seeing him interacting with his father, unbeknownst to him, made Jessica sad.
Under the dim light, she glanced at Roger standing by the window. Making sure Evan was asleep, she whispered. "I am sorry. I know I made a mistake."
Roger turned around and stared at Jessica with hard eyes. Jessica flinched at the coldness. His eyes seemed to breathe fire. Walking towards Jessica, he took out a piece of folded paper from his pocket and put it in her hand without a word.
Jessica opened it. What she read made her speechless. It was a court order; a court order regarding custody of Evan.
