When the prince fell, Pandora gestured to the guards to get him up. She felt that he was pretending to be sick because of what was happening. "Get him up quickly," she commanded in her thick, fiery voice, her bloodshot eyes darkened.
One of the guards struck Douglas a blow right in the face when they pulled him up to rise up but he didn't. Lucinda, my PA hid her face in shame and horror. It was a sickening sight, tears escaped my eyes. "What're we gonna do about this?" I asked her but she was so affected by what was happening to look at my face or even answer me. I wrapped my hand around her shoulders in comfort. "Don't worry, everything will be fine. I'll do something about this!" I tried to comfort her with these soothing words.
A swollen spot appeared where Douglas was struck. He was truly unconscious. "Call the pack doctor to come drive him to consciousness, I want to see as his beloved is done away with." A loud sinister laugh followed, my eyes turned golden. I was truly annoyed at the extreme power this vampire was exercising, I think she didn't know the mother of the werewolves was watching her.
"When it's time to act on this, she'd get the worst punishment ever. Don't worry my dear Lucinda!" Lucinda got her face up and looked at what was going on.
In about five minutes, a doctor dressed in his white coat, his stethoscope hung on his neck and his paramedics box in his hands came in. He bowed in courtesy before the queen.
"Make sure you get him out of his unconscious state in ten minutes, lest your life would be gone with him." The doctor shook in terror, he tried his best and his best was actually the best. I could see the doctor heaved a sigh of great relief once he walked out of the room after Douglas recovered.
"You thought you could escape seeing what would happen to your girlfriend? No, you can't!" Douglas at this point was panting, like he was gonna have a seizure. The pitiable site of his helpless girlfriend sitting in front of him greatly disturbed him. They both woke up feeling great and optimistic but here they were, an unexpected tragedy struck them.
"Now tell me the whole truth with this question I'm going to ask you now!" She barked at Douglas angrily. Lucinda and I shrugged our shoulders, our ears paying great attention to what Pandora would say next.
"Is it this girl that pushes you to seek the throne?" We widened our eyes at the question. I personally could see that it was uncalled for, the king had ruled for sixty-years and had to hand it over to his son.
"Douglas is not wrong to demand for his rights!" Lucinda gave me a frustrated look, she was dumbfounded.
"No, she isn't the one!" Douglas responded firmly and looked down. Weakness seized him once again. What was going on is what none of them ever expected.
Nancy was ashamed of the condition she was placed in. "Hey look up here!" Pandora commanded.
"I can't look at this again, I feel faint. Let me go!" Lucinda muttered. I reach out for her hand as she was about to leave and pull her to myself.
"No you aren't leaving, let's watch till the end. I want to see what will happen to this two fellows." I told her.
"Feeling so bad for them." Lucinda brushed her long curly hair using the back of her palms.
"What's wrong, you've been rubbing your eyes quite several times? Look, your eyes are red!" I noticed when she eventually raised her eyes to look at me.
"Your Majesty, you really got to do something about this. Pandora has been exhibiting her wicked acts for many years now, it's time you step up to the plate and stop her before she eliminates all your children. I can see what she's planning to do, she intends to wipe away most shifters to replace them with witches and vampires."
"I'll do something about that soon, my powers have to work in order. Even as a goddess, I can't take any action without first agreeing with my spirits. Ok?" Lucinda nodded in harmony. She knew that everything I did followed a proper order and was done at exactly the right time.
"Kneel there!" Pandora commanded the prince who stared at her with hate. Douglas hesitated, it was an abomination to say this to a prince. When she saw that he wasn't willing to take her orders she made the guards force him. With Douglas kneeling and his girlfriend disgraced on the ground, a satisfactory beam lighted Pandora's face.
"Tell me girl," she turned over to Nancy. "Have you ever talked about Douglas assuming the throne? Tell me the whole truth, lest I deal with you!" Pandora barked, making the poor Nancy shake. Douglas seemed to be on the verge of tears, I felt that any moment he would break down and let the world see his most emotional part.
He winked at Nancy to say no but unluckily Pandora turned and saw him. My spirit begins to race, "What will she do to him?"
"Get him out of here straight to the dungeon, make sure he takes off that expensive suit he's putting on and takes up the prisoner's uniform." The evil queen said to the guards who nodded, ready to carry out her plans. My gut clenched, Lucinda blinking in disbelief.
"I hope this' not real. Someone should tell me it's just a dream. How can this gorgeous prince go to prison just like that?"
"I tell you, she'll surely pay for it when the time is ripe!" I gave Lucinda a firm look, she had to believe what I was saying because it's very true. Even though I'm the moon goddess, the celestial nature required me to act only after I had consulted with my celestial beings. In this case, no one would be able to stand against Pandora but me. She was not an ordinary creature you could easily deal with. Rising up against her would imply picking up the human form and I couldn't leave my celestial home and position without proper consultation with my spirits.
Our eyes returned back to what was happening in the palace, between the evil queen and her stepson. "One good favor I'm gonna do you, kiss your bride goodbye!" She let out a sinister laugh like some old witch, of course she was. "Am I not good?" She laughed again.
"Don't mind her, kiss Nancy goodbye. Don't worry yourself!" I knew what was going to happen to her in the end so I told Douglas this. To him, it felt like it was his mind trying to tell him something but I was the one actually speaking to him under the cover of some mental thoughts.
He stood up from the point he knelt and sorrowfully went over to Nancy with tears in his eyes. Nancy could not control her tears either. He brushed her bare hands, careful not to do anything that would provoke the queen.
"If this gonna be the last time I'll see you, take heart my love. I didn't expect things to go this way, early in the morning I woke up feeling alright with you but see where fate has led us too. I believe we'll meet someday beyond the sky where we'll spend our forever. I love you my sweetest darling. Prince Douglas will always and forever love you!" He gave her a long and passionate kiss, Nancy wept uncontrollably. Prince Douglas felt that he might not survive in the prison, this' what prompted him to talk of the last time they might meet. His statement wasn't directed towards Nancy. We'd see what's gonna happen next, I thought to myself.
"I love you more than life itself! We will meet again. Goodbye my prince charming!" She said amidst tears.
With tears in his eyes and revenge in his soul, Prince Douglas was led out of the room.
