Chapter 3

1001 Words
Mom and I went over the events of last night one more time. Kris and Kendall also offered their own details. I showed her the note and told her what I said in my room about Lillian disappearing. "No matter what is going on or what ever happens, none of this is your fault." Mom said to me. "I know, but how could I not think that after he said it that way in his note?" I said feeling hopeless. "Wait ... How did he know you said it if you said it in your room?" Kris asked. "How, is a great question." Mom said. "My guess is, he was here to take Savannah but heard her words and took Lillian instead." "I'm so glad we didn't fight with you last night." Kendall said jokingly. Kris and him had a little laugh. I'm sitting here panicking and feeling guilty and they are joking. Ugh. "Boys!" Dad scolded them. "Sorry." They said in unison. "Who is Devon Kingston and why would he want any of our children, dear?" Dad asked mom. "He was a promising young sorcerer. He had loads of potential. He is around 18 or 19 years old. His mother is a wonderful powerful white witch." She says with a pained look on her face. "Then how did he end up kidnäpping people's sisters?" Kris asked interrupting mom. "His father on the other hand, was a dark sorcerer. He lured his mother by magic. He was attracted to her beauty and power." She continued with sadness in her voice. "He didn't want children. When his mother became pregnant by him, he undone the magic spell on her and left her. He has grown up trying so hard to please his father and get close to him. Trying to gain his approval and acceptance." "I really hate that for him." Kendall said sadly. "Ok, but why did he kidnap Lillian or could have possible kidnapped me?" I asked confused. "He just sounds like a sad boy with daddy issues." "Don't be so quick to judge others, Savannah. I'm the reason he was banned from doing magic." Mom said without any emotion. I know I wished Lillian would've disappeared, but I never actually contemplated some sick twisted person set on revenge would hear me and take her. "Why was he banned?" Dad asked mom. "He was trying to gain his father's approval, just a portion of some kind of affection, so he started to use dark magic. He tried to prove that he was capable of being just like his father." Mom said. "I knew he was young and this wasn't who he really was, he was headed down the wrong path and fast. I approached his mother about this because he was catching the eye of other supers who weren't happy about it. She begged for my help. So, I brought it up to the council and the witches coven leader to start a trail." "He was that far gone?" Dad asked, with mom nodding her head. "What a shame." "What were you gonna do to him at this trail?" Kris asked. "At the trail we all agreed, because he was so young, that we would take away his magic for one year. In this year he had to do good deeds at least once a week to get his magic back." Mom said. "That sounds easy." Kendall said, with Kris agreeing. "We didn't want to punish him too drastically. We just wanted to steer him back onto the right path. We all understood why he had started to use black magic. Even if it wasn't the right thing to do." Mom said. "Then how did we end up her if it were that simply?" I asked. "I guess he thought he would get a harsher punishment and never showed up for his hearing." Mom said shaking her head. "So what do we do about Lillian? Kris asked. "How do we get her back?" Kendall followed immediately behind Kris. "We're ready for anything." They said in unison. It's so creepy when they do that. Talk at the same time. They use to freak me and Lillian out in the middle of the night after they say that hotel movie with the twin girls. They'd stand in the hallway side by side. "We don't do anything." Mom said calmly. "WHAT?" Dad, Kris, Kendall, and myself yelled. "Savannah does." She said looking at me slowly. "Umm ... Why me? How? By myself? Where do I go?" I said nervously. "You are Fae." Mom said calmly. "So Are You!" I stated, beginning to panic more. "Yes, but I have to go to the council and see the witches about this situation. Dad is human and has to watch the boys. You're an adult and the only one that can leave right away." Mom said with a smile. "She can't go alone. She doesn't know that world. You never let the girls explore when you took them with you." Dad tried to argue. This was true. We lived in a small town in the human world. We are from America, South Carolina to be exact. The best way for supers to hid in the human world was to do it in small towns, in plain sight. Even though my mom is besties with almost every leader of all kinds, we haven't been allowed to visit the other realms without strict supervision by my mom. Those trips only consisted of what we had to do and then we'd leave. "She won't be alone, darling. I am going to call some contacts and assemble a team." Mom said trying to ease my dad's fears. Great! Now I'm probably going to be stuck with a bunch of old people who I don't know, going to a place I don't know, to face things I don't know, to find a guy I don't know. UGH!! Who is this team? Where is my sister even at? I'm Not A Hero!
