Marlie’s POV
When Abbie and I got to April and Ian’s house, I didn’t even have the chance to knock on the door before it was pulled open by Jay Jay, who practically jumped on Abbie to give her a hug. Laughing, I guided the kids inside the house and instantly could smell the food that April was cooking. The kids ran off to the living room to play, so I made my way to the kitchen to see if April needed any help.
“Oh, you are here.” April turned to me, looking a little surprised. “I didn’t hear you knock.”
“Jay Jay let us in.” I told her, and she mouthed an ‘oh’ with a nod of the head. “Do you need any help with that?” I asked, gesturing to the food.
“Actually, I just finished, just need to carry it to the dining room.” She replied. I grabbed some of the stuff and carried it to the dining
