CHAPTER EIGHT I backed up into Luca and looked between the two men. “Please tell me those aren’t what I think they are.” Luca nodded. “Yes. Ghouls, and they’re blocking the path to the main entrance.” He whipped his head to Sfetnic. “Is the rear gate still kept unlocked?” Sfetnic nodded to our right. “Yes. It’s this way.” He leapt down off the platform and hurried past the ghouls. Luca and I followed, with Luca keeping a tight grip on my hand. We stumbled into the fog and soon found ourselves back in the maze of tombstones and trees. I stumbled over a root, but Luca’s hand and my own scrambling feet kept me from falling to the ground.
