CHAPTER FOUR
I rose to my feet, and we strolled back through the majestic rooms. A few servants flitted to and fro, keeping clean the history of the place, but otherwise it was just the two of us arm-in-arm. A few of the servants cast sly smiles at us as we passed by, and Luca bowed his head to each of them.
At the last one I lifted my eyes up to him. “Your castle doesn’t have high turnover, does it?” He blinked at me, and I snorted. “Your servants stay with you a long time, don’t they?”
He nodded. “From birth to death, and there are rumors that some stay on even longer than that.”
A little color left my face. “You mean ghosts?”
