I arrived home late and sent messages to Fernando, but he didn't reply to me. Maybe he's already asleep. Or so I thought, as I saw the light on in his office when I arrived.
I opened the door and found him buried in a sea of papers behind the desk. He didn't even notice me enter. So I approached him.
"That's why you didn't read my message," I said.
He looked up at me. "Love, you're home," he replied with a smile. He then pulled me closer by the waist and kissed me on the lips.
"I thought you were already asleep," I said.
"It's still early," he said, checking his watch. "Or maybe not."
"What are you doing? You didn't even notice the time," I uttered.
He reached out and took one of the papers. Apparently, he was reviewing the balance sheets of the technology company.
