Chapter Twenty-Nine
Demon didn’t answer me for a long moment, his eyes boring into mine. Finally, in a voice barely more than a whisper, he said, “I want you there.” His fingers traced the curve of my face, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. The warmth of his hand sent a buzz of electricity running through my veins. His eyes met mine and they moved down my face.
I watched his lips part and his adam’s apple bob as he swallowed hard. Everything about him was so controlled that it made me wonder what it would be like when he did lose control.
His finger softly moved down to my chin and I felt his nails dig into my skin. It wasn’t enough to hurt, just enough to remind me that he was very much there. As if I could forget… As if he wasn’t making sure he had my full attention.
