NINE May 23 10:25 a.m.Derek raced towards the place that he could no longer call home. He had to stay detached and professional; this was a job that had to be done. He told himself not to look into her eyes. He couldn’t let anything stop him this time. If it went well, he could be on his way to his new identity in the next half hour, never looking back. He could forget all that had happened and start over as someone else. A new person with new relationships in a new town.
