In a certain sect's herb garden, the peaceful sound of silence emanated. However, this peace was disturbed by a muffled groan from a man on the ground, bleeding profusely.
"W-why...why is it like this..."
The boy said as he lamented silently, slowly dying from the grievous wounds on his body.
The boy was a disciple of the Golden Dragon Sect, a prominent sect that ruled over the Goldenridge City for thousands of years. The sect was full of geniuses and ancient masters, however, this man was an exception. He was considered trash among the disciples. His greatest achievement? - being at the 3rd Level Mortal realm.
In this world, only the strong are respected and revered...and because he wasn't...he paid the price.
"I-if only...please, one chance...give me one more chance!"
The boy pleaded to the heavens as he stared into the sky longingly. A few seconds passed, and he was no more...
...
Suddenly, a rainbow-hued, bright light illuminated the peaceful night for a split second, then...gone. With it, shockingly, the motionless man springs to life, and his grievous wounds faded instantaneously as if the situation he was just in was a lie.
"Agh! Damn...what the hell just happened?"
The boy suddenly jolted up, then checked his body for injuries.
"Haaa, that dragon was so brutal...thank the gods I activated that artifact in time...if not, I would've been done in for sure."
The boy said as he sighed in relief.
"What is this place? Have I been teleported?"
He thought as he studied his surroundings with a confused look. He was just in the middle of being barbequed by an S-class Dragon as far as he can remember, but now he is in a garden with some... weird-looking plants.
"You! What are you doing here at this time of night!"
Suddenly, an elderly man wearing a gold-colored robe appeared behind him.
The man looked at the elder and was eager to ask some questions. He wanted to know where he was and lucky for him, the stranger happened to find him here.
"Hello sir, may I please ask you where is this place? I was just doing a quest in Farcol Wastelands when-
The elder, however, wasn't listening and just glared at him as if he was very unsightly, then interrupted him.
"Tch, it's just you. Get back in your pavilion now, lest I break your limbs for loitering!"
"What's with this old man..."
The man thought to himself. His name was Ezio Walhein. Even though he wasn't a particularly strong adventurer, he had faith in his charisma, although this time, it seems that it didn't work. But what grabbed his attention was not the threat, but the fact that the old man seemed to recognize him - which is strange because he had never seen this strange old man before.
"Oh, you seem to know me, sir... Sorry, but I just don't know where I am right no-"
"Unfilial bastard!"
As soon as the elder said that, he waved his hand as if he was slapping Ezio on the face. Ezio then went flying and landed heavily on the ground.
"f**k, this old man is strong!"
Ezio thought to himself as he wiped the blood from his lips. Never did he expect that this old man would be this strong...his rough estimate was that this old man might be B or even A ranked just by the way he controlled his mana!
"Next time, it will be your arm. Don't make me cripple you and get the f**k out of my sight!"
The old man said as he waved his sleeves, shooing away Ezio as if he was a dog.
"Damn you old man, like hell I'd take any more of this s**t from you!"
Ezio thought as his eyes became sharp, glaring at the elder as if he would snap at any second.
"Eh?"
Ezio almost blurted out loud. He tried to activate his skill [Enhance Physique] just like he always did before a fight, but it didn't activate no matter how much he willed it.
"Damn, what the hell is this?!"
Ezio then looked at his status window. What's in it made his face contort in utter bewilderment.

"Holy shit...what did that dragon just do to me?!"
Ezio's mind was in a state of panic. His name, his status - they all changed! One has to know that a person's status is unique to each own. Naturally, he would be shocked if he saw another man's status window as his own!
"Could it be...I reincarnated into another man's body?"
Ezio quickly formed a hypothesis in his head, no matter how outlandish it may be. The only thing left now, was to confirm it.
"Hmph, a mere outer sect disciple like you still dare stand around me! This senior here will teach you a lesson!"
A shout from the elder interrupted his thoughts. He almost forgot that there was a blood-hungry old man in front of him.
"Damn it, look at these stats... I'm done for!"
He felt despair for the second time today. He never thought that a person could have such bad luck in just a span of one day! He was burnt to a crisp by a dragon, now an old man is going to beat him senseless...
"Ah! A skill!"
He saw a skill called [God's Generosity] in his skill list. Maybe that could somehow save him from this old man?
"Damn it. I've got no choice! Activate!"
Ezio said as he willed the skill to activate.

"What kind of bullshit skill is this!!!"
Ezio almost lost his sanity right then and there. Who would've thought that such a good-sounding name like "God's Generosity" would give him a trash skill like this!
"Did you just call my skill...bullshit?"
The elder glared at Ezio as if he was trying to murder him by his gaze alone.
"Good...good! You seem to be ignorant of my mercy and even dared to call my martial skill bullshit! With no respect to an elder of the sect...you worthless disciple deserve to die!"
The elder snapped, and with a restrained grunt, released all of his killing intent onto Ezio—bearing down on him like an unstoppable flood.
"To think that I just dug my own grave again...what the hell is wrong with me?!"
Ezio's mind strained as to how he would get out of this situation. He refused to die a second time today...absolutely not!
"Blerghh!!"
Suddenly, Ezio vomited out huge amounts of blood. This ridiculousness made the elder stop in his tracks, completely bewildered by what just happened.
"What is—"
Before the elder could speak, Ezio kneeled and shouted...
"Merciful Elder, your disciple is at fault for not recognizing your venerable self! It was just so dark tonight that I thought you were a fellow disciple!"
Ezio's sudden change in attitude caught the elder off guard. He looked at Ezio's current state. Ezio's blood formed a small puddle on the ground and he was clutching his chest. He didn't hit him that hard...did he? Moreover, wasn't he hit in the face and not the chest?
"Hmm, it is indeed impossible for you to see me clearly with the level of your cultivation...but I would not forget that you called my martial skill bullshit!"
The old man replied angrily, albeit only slightly because of how Ezio praised him. He enjoyed other people pointing out his greatness, no matter how insignificant they are.
"No, your venerable elder... I was... I was angry at myself... To think I... I couldn't even protect myself even a little! I am indeed bullshit! I deserve to die elder...kill me now...KILL ME NOW!"
Ezio said with tears streaming down his eyes, completely immersed in the "pitiful" character he plays. Feeling the urge to take it a step further, he then punched himself in the face over and over until he pukes another batch of blood. This was, of course, the effects of his skill being activated.
"Damn you, you unfilial disciple! Stop being so pathetic!"
The elder shouted and made Ezio stop hitting himself.
"Hmph, killing you would disgrace me and the sect's name! Just get the hell out of here and don't show your face to me ever again!"
Ezio then stood up and bowed in fake gratitude to the elder many times, then "limped" away from him.
"Tch, I was fortunate that he was a gullible one...to think that I have to plead for my life to an old man! How embarrassing"
Ezio grit his teeth and kept on "limping" away from the garden.
"Just wait until I find out just what the hell happened to me...When all this is over, don't blame me for being 'unfilial', old man!"
Ezio's face lit up, revealing a furious glint in his eye.
He hated that he had to talk his way out of most of his confrontations...but if he was to be best at one thing, it would be bullshitting other people! Although he disliked doing it, his strength wasn't anywhere near enough to let him do as he pleased. After all, after 30 years of life, he only managed to be a D-rank adventurer before finally dying by the flames of a dragon.
When he went as far as the old man couldn't see him, he stopped at a pond nearby and looked at his reflection.
And after doing this, a familiar face stared back at him. Looking at his features he can't seem but notice that his face was just as before, albeit younger. His hair and eyes also changed color from a fiery red to a midnight black. If his parents said that he had a missing identical twin as a brother, it would be him right now, he thought.
"Hmm, could this world be..."
A famous scholar back in Pandora, his former realm, once proposed a theory of multiple parallel universes and he thought that it might be possible. Crazy, yes, but still possible given the supporting evidence he'd acquired throughout the years.
There are many other probable causes of his reincarnation to another man's body, but he remembered that there have been people from The Kingdom of Estellia that claimed that they were from another plane of existence. An example would be the S-rank adventurer Ren Barkley, who used his superior knowledge of technology to his advantage and became one of the strongest beings in Estellia.
"Haaa, not yet. I must gather more information before I decide anything. For now though..."
He spoke as he gazed towards a large building in front of him.
"I need to figure out just where the hell am I."
