Dinner is wonderful—good food and good company makes for a great holiday meal. Jenna waited until Dave sat down before claiming the seat beside him, leaving me across the table watching them interact. He’s so attentive to her, leaning towards her every time she has something to tell him which, for Jenna, is every couple minutes or so. She tells him about her school and her classes and her friends. She tells him what she wants for Christmas, listing most of the items I wrapped earlier in the day. She even whispers what she bought me for Christmas, but only after she makes me stick my fingers in my ears and hum “Silent Night” so I won’t listen.
