Chapter 5: Long Live The King

Lamira

I woke to the sound of singing coming from the kitchen area, my father was back and I was too ashamed to face him, I got up and cleaned myself up. I was getting tea when there was a knock on the door, my father answered, and he bowed, it was Prince Levi and my heart jumped. He asked my father to speak with me in private and my father said, "Your Highness, what did she do?" He said, "I just need to ask her a few questions before the Coronation," he left the room so we could talk, Levi said, "Follow me," and we stepped outside. I looked at my feet and he said, "Emile has requested you at the Palace," I asked, "Is he alright?" Levi said, "Yes, he is, but before we go, do you have a s****l relationship with, Lord Matthias?" I froze up and couldn't look at him, my eyes clouded with tears, and I said, "I did it for, Emile."

He bit the inside of his jaw not to yell at me but I could tell he was angry and said, "Your excuse is that you f**k his uncle for him." I let my tears flow because I felt so horrible that Emile knew, I was ashamed and I would lose him over this, I knew I should have stood my ground even if it killed me. He said, "Get your coat, and let's go," I said, "Let me explain please, he is planning to kill Emile," he stopped from walking to his horse and said, "Tell me everything you know or I will end you right here for treason." I told him everything and my father and I were heading to the Palace on horses. I saw the decorations around the Palace but my stomach was in knots, I didn't know what to expect. It was beautiful here, I crossed the bridge and saw the waterfall as we entered the back entrance.

I was placed in a room with my father and told to stay there, my father looked at me and asked, "What did you get us into?" I did not know what else to say. I sat down as he looked at me confused and the door opened, it was Emile, he looked memorizing in his gown fit for a King, moments before the Coronation. His hair was neatly in a braid down the center of his back, his crest of the Kingdom on the cloak and he looked me dead in the eyes with his clear blue eyes. He said, "Levi informed me of the situation, how long was he planning on killing me?" I said, "I don't know, I found out last night," he looked at my father and said, "Leave, he bowed and walked out. Emile looked at me, I could tell he was angry, and he said, "I need you to do something for me and I won't kill you," I stuttered, "Kkkkkill me."

He walked to the window looking outside and asked, "Did you ever love me?" I said, "More than anything," he said, "You let him touch you. You let him f**k you, don't you know how I felt when I saw you? I trusted you," I said, "He lied to me, and played on my feelings for you, I wanted to save or think I was saving you, I am so sorry, Emile, please let me..." He cut me off and said, "Let you do what? Make it up to me, do you think I will mate a common w***e after this?" I knew he was hurting and wanted me to feel his raft, I don't blame him, I betrayed his love and faith in me, and it stung, I wiped my tears knowing I had lost him because I was weak and fell for Matthias lies but I thought he would harm Emile and I would never let that happen. I had to think about saving my baby, our baby, I lowered my head in shame and apologized again but he stood there and told me what he needed me to do and I agreed.

He said, "After this is done, I want nothing more to do with you, you can stay in the Kingdom but I will forget you ever meant anything to me or that I ever loved you, goodbye, Lamira." I stood there and watched Emile walk out never to think of me again, my father was allowed in the room and asked me, "What happened, love?" I was in shock as I held my hand to my stomach, I wanted to tell him about the pregnancy, something I had planned to do after the Coronation but what was the point, I lost him, and once I told my father what I did to the King, I would lose him too. My heart was heavy but what could I do, the King laid down the law and punishment and I would wait until after the Coronation to do as he asked.

Emile

I left that room in anger, I wanted to rip Matthias's head off, he killed my father, tried to poison my brothers, and then, stole my happiness away from me. I will never forgive him for this, I was done playing with him and although I hated what this would look like, it was the only way to get him out and away from our lives for good. I linked Jared to arrest Lady Morgana and had Eva join us for the Coronation, Mendai nodded that he was ready for this and Levi had everyone in place so he couldn't run. However, my brothers were part of the Coronation as they were being bumped up in status since my father's generation of leaders stepped down when he died. This way, Matthias won't suspect something is wrong and block Morgana's link to him in the process, I watch Lamira walk in and turn away as she is no longer someone I care about but deep down, my heart is breaking.

The ritual was on its way as the blessing and passing on of duties went as planned, and the Kingdom watched as I was crowned King. All my brothers were princes by birth but now carried the added labels of second, third, and fourth in command, Mendai was also a General of my armies, the loyalties were sworn and joys of the Kingdom could be heard, and those in attendance bowed and rose repeating, "Long live the King." I saw Matthias out of the corner of my eye, he wasn't happy but I didn't care, I saw Prince Fitz here to escort him to Orca but I had other plans. I told the Elders, "Do not leave, I had to do one thing before we partied," I nodded for Jared and Levi to do their part as I saw my men grab Matthias and bring him in front of me. The Elders weren't aware of what was happening until Jared brought in Morgana, and Mendai told Eva and Lamira to join the party.

I told the people, "Since we are here, I am going to rule on a matter as King, I was informed of some deeds that were happening under my nose and since we have all parties involved here, we shall deal with it." My mother looked at me confused, I kissed her cheek and said, "You don't have to stay for this, Mother," she bowed and hugged me, my men escorted her to her quarters, she was still mourning our father. Matthias looked at me and said, "You have no reason to arrest me, Emile," I looked him dead in his face and said, "It's Your Majesty, Matthias." I turned to Eva who was crying as her father hugged her yelling, "You son of a b***h you violated my daughter, I want justice, Your Majesty." Matthias yells, "Lies, you can't do this to me, Emile, you know what they do to rapists here." I said, "I know," looked at, Eva, the perfect attress, and said, "You don't have to say in front of everyone if this is too much for you but you can tell us what he did."

She said, "He forced himself on me, Your Majesty, he ruined me for any man that would have me," I heard the gasp from who was in the room and I turned to Lamira. I said, "I understand you have a grievance with Lord Matthias as well," she wiped her tears as her father looked on and she cradled her stomach, which made me uneasy. She said, "He assaulted me last night, Your Majesty when my father was away," her father jumped on him saying, "You son-of-b***h, I will kill you." Matthias yelled, "Get him off me, I did no such thing, I only wanted to annoy you, he has a thing with that common w***e, she is a w***e who f****d the King years on end," he looked around realizing how crazy he sounded to everyone as I smiled at him. Mendai looked at the Elders, they talked among themselves and one said, "Your Majesty, we can rule on this if you want us to but it's your call." Matthias said, "These were lies," I linked him, "Admit to poisoning my father here and now and I won't kill you," he looked at me with venom.

He replied, "Do you think I would trust you not to kill me after you framed me for rape? The only thing I am guilty of is f*****g your whore." I walked towards him and said, "Very well then, death it is, I won't tell my mother you killed our father as it would hurt her more, so I will execute you." I stood up silencing the room and said, "I am ready to pass judgment," I looked away since I wanted to kill him but I refused to get my hands dirty. I turned to Jared and Malric, I said, "Take Matthias to the valley of the dead and kill him, his body will remain to rot as I strip him of all titles. No one will ever speak his name again," I nod to Jared to take him away, I turn to Eva and dismiss her linking her, "Go to my room tonight when the party winds down." I looked at Lamira who was still crying, still cradling her stomach as her father pulled her to go with him. I watched a chapter of my life close as she walked towards the door and before she could make the turn, she fainted.
