FIFTEEN Jason kept a careful watch on Xan as she climbed into the Argo. She seemed perfectly calm and collected again – nothing like the shaking, sicking-up mess she'd been on the pearl farm lawn, and there was no trace of the frozen panic she'd shown in the car when that b****y bird had set fire to the bush on both sides. He hadn't thought she was afraid of anything, but he had to admit, he'd never seen her around fire. She was more of a water woman, after all.
