The Plan

Bella’s POV Bella received the photo of the necklace. “It seems a bit familiar, Where have I seen it before?” She mumbles to herself. When suddenly Lily, her mother looked at the picture and exclaimed. “Ugh, it’s so cheap and old-fashioned. Is this worthless piece of s**t actually the memento Eric Collin gave you?” Bella suddenly froze. Cheap necklace? Wasn’t these the same words she used to describe this same very necklace before? She remembered! This is the necklace she had seen on Jessica’s neck when they were returning. So the real Mrs. Collins is actually Jessica? It turned out that Jessica was the one who saved Eric that night! Daniel said, "Enough talk, hurry up and find the necklace! If it's gone, how can our daughter marry into the Collins family?" "That's right!" Lily exclaimed and went to get Bella's luggage. She started rummaging through it. But to no avail. All she could find in that luggage was only clothes, perfumes, and other jewelry. "Mom, Dad, don't bother looking! I know where the necklace is." Bella stopped them, her face was solemn. The couple looked at her in surprise. "The necklace is outside, I'll go get it." After speaking, Bella went out. How could she let that beggar get Eric? Eric Collins was hers and she wouldn’t allow anyone to snatch him away from her. Daniel and Lily didn't realize what had happened until after a while. Lily patted her chest and said, "This girl made us worry for nothing. But how could such an important thing be left outside..." Bella went directly to the school to find Jessica. She had to get the necklace and become Mrs. Collins! She had very less time. She had to visit the Collins house in the evening. Jessica’s POV, At this time, Jessica was sitting in a car on her way home. She lived in the same community as Bella, or rather, it was the home of her foster parents. She was abandoned as a baby and adopted by her grandmother until she was fifteen, living in the countryside. That year, her grandmother became seriously ill, and her foster parents brought them to the city. In addition to her foster parents, there was a younger brother who was two years younger than her, repeating his senior year of high school. Suddenly her phone rang, and she saw that it was Olivia, her foster mother. “Hello Mom” Jessica answered meekly. “Jessica, where are you?” She asked dominatingly. “I am on my way home, I will reach there in 10 minutes.” Jessica sighed. “Okay. Good for you. After you come home help your brother with his schoolwork.” Saying this the call ended. Jessica sighed again and looked out of the car window. She felt empty. There was no one to ask her how she was, or how was she doing. Nobody asked about her well-being or took care of her. She had always been alone. The only person that cared for her was in ICU. She had no family, she longed for a happy family, siblings to share joy and happiness with. Speaking of siblings, she had to go home and complete her foster brother- Anthony’s schoolwork. Anthony had a serious addiction to gaming and was very negative about studying. After reaching her foster parents’ house, Jessica quickly went to her room, she quickly organized her stuff and threw her clothes into the washing machine, planning to wash them later on. Without wasting any time she rushed herself towards Anthony’s room. She sat at his study table and quickly started solving the problems in the test papers. For her, who was a medical genius such tests were as easy as solving math problems of a 5th grade. Though it was easy for her, solving a bunch of test papers was nevertheless tiring. Jessica so wanted to crack open Anthony’s brain and shove the test papers inside. After finally completing his schoolwork for him she returned to her room feeling tired. But then she remembered she had broken up with James. She wanted to throw all the things related to James and so she did. She threw everything related to James into the trash can. After a while, her foster father Andrew came home. His brow was furrowed, looking gloomy. Jessica poured him a glass of water and handed it to him. "Dad, are you okay?" Andrew asked worriedly and sat on the sofa, smoking silently. Seeing this, Jessica knew that the issue with the project from last time hadn't been resolved. A while ago, Andrew took on a project that resulted in a serious loss, which has put his company in a difficult situation. Jessica couldn't help but feel worried and turned back to her room. She wanted to do something for her foster family. 3rd Person’s POV Olivia sat next to Andrew and snatched the cigarette from his hand, anxiously asking, "Andrew, what's going on?" Andrew shook his head, his dejected look saying it all. Olivia's face turned pale. They were finished! "Unfortunately, our family doesn't have the same good luck as our neighbors! The Wards" Andrew suddenly sighed. He had just entered the community and ran into Lily who was showing off that her daughter Bella was going to marry into The Collins family and was going to become Mrs. Eric Collins! The Collins family was the top family in the country, a super wealthy family! Wards had really hit the jackpot and were soaring high. Hearing this Anthony sighed and got up. He removed his T-shirt and threw it in the washing machine, but then he remembered that there few dollar bills in his shirt pocket and immediately tried to fetch it when suddenly he touched a hard object in a cloth. He took out the garment, it was the denim pants and he found a copper necklace in the pocket. "Mum, what is this?" he asked loudly while walking out with the pants in one hand and the necklace in the other hand. Olivia was in a bad mood, she impatiently scanned the necklace and irritatingly said, "What rubbish, it must have been a gift from Jessica's cheap boyfriend, throw it away!" "Oh!" Anthony sneered as he was about to throw it in the trash can. Andrew's eyes lit up as he stopped him, "Wait, let me see!" He felt suspicious about the necklace, He snatched it from Anthony’s hands and took a closer look. He was trying to recall the conversation he had with Mrs. Wards Lily had said "The Collins family is not an ordinary family. They had given the new Mrs. Eric Collins a memento. It was said to be a heirloom of some sort. The memento was nothing special, it was a copper necklace with some engravings on it. It also had the name ‘Collins’ engraved on the inside part of the necklace. It didn’t look any special nor was it expensive, but it was still important.” Andrew turned the necklace over, and just as expected, the word "Collins" was engraved on the inside! His eyes sparkled, obscuring the gloom from earlier, "This is it, it can't be wrong!" He exclaimed. His hands holding the necklace where trembling in excitement. "Andrew, what's going on?" Olivia who was sitting on the sofa asked him, clearly confused. Andrew told Olivia about the necklace and his plan. "Now, only Jessica can help us with this!" Andrew stared intently at the necklace in his hand. "Will she agree? Don't forget she still has a beloved boyfriend!" Although the necklace was brought back by Jessica, Olivia could bet that the wild girl from the countryside did not know the meaning of the necklace, she didn't think that she had such a deep mind. Hearing this, Andrew's eyes darkened, "There must be a way..." After dinner, Jessica was counting the money she had on her. Her foster father's company was in trouble, and she could not stand idly by. Sadly, she was just a poor doctor, and even if she could pay back James' debt of 150,000 dollars she only had more than 8,000 dollars on her, which was of little help. Jessica sighed and planned to find a part-time job. Even if her foster father's company went bankrupt, at least she could still have an income to support her family, and buy nutrition for her grandmother... At this moment, Andrew knocked on the door and walked in. Seeing Jessica looking for a job, he comforted her, "Jessica, I know you are a good girl, but you don't have to worry about family affairs. Here, drink this glass of milk. He handed Jessica the glass of milk. "Dad, I just want to share the burden with you." Jessica said, then drank the milk in front of Andrew. Andrew smiled contentedly, "Get some good sleep." Watching him leave, Jessica closed the door behind him. She had just closed the door when she suddenly felt as if the room was spinning and she fell asleep.
