She has been trying to persuade me to come home for our family reunion. My family is kind of crazy, and I just got a leave from work after two straight years and I really don't know who to blame for telling mother about it "look mom it's just for a week okay",I sighed as I knew it might as well be me tying myself home for the remainder of the leave time."yay, finally thanks it will be fun I promise", she screamed into the phone. I am already regretting it. ✨✨✨✨✨✨ "Aunt arielle is here",charlotte screamed. "Yay! Woah your so heavy", I exclaimed as I picked the little girl up. Finally after the long drive home everywhere still looked the same"nothing's changed",I said as I entered the house", " I know right I said the same thing to " tracy my elder sister said "so wats up we haven't heard from you in what, ages", she said looking at me straight in the eyes expecting an answer the truth was I didn't hate my family or anything I love them but I never loved coming home. During my college time I had a hard time coping because of the people around like for example "hot betty" I didn't name her though ,it was the boys,she always picked on me for no reason. I know I was in college and I could have stood up for myself but I just couldn't . Well that's by the way"arielle are you even listening"she sighed "so what's it all about", she asked again "well the thing is that I was really busy at work and you know my boss, he isn't exactly the best at holidays and stuff so I couldn't make it"I said ,she looked like she didn't believe me but she let it go. "You know Alen is going crazier by the day he says he is making some sort of machine or so",she said changing the topic. Alen is my elder brother, and he is totally into inventing things. People take him as crazy and stuff and so do I "oh really what's he making this time ", I said "I think he said it's a time machine or something", she laughed "really that's so crazy is it even possible",I said in between laughs.no one ever believes that Alens invention works "what's so funny" oh oh . " Hey ari, what's got you all cracked up darting his eyes between me and tracy", he asked looking confused. "Nothing, it's just a movie I watched that I was telling her about", I smiled, giving him my hey you I am totally not lying look. "Okay", he said. It was so easy to lie too him even when we were kids. "Arielle go unpack your things in your room we cleaned it for you", my mom said. "Thanks mom " I kissed her cheek while passing her to climb the stairs up to my room. When I entered my room it still looked like the rest of the house, the same. Nothing's changed I thought. I walked to the bed and plopped down on the bed to relax my aching back,wow everything still looks the same. I sat up and started unfolding my my clothes and hanging them in the closet. "Aunt ari mom says you should come down for dinner","kay sweetie" I said as I took her hand and went down the stairs to the dining room. "So how was work been Arielle"dad asked in my whole family dad has been the one I have been less close to as a matter of fact he is not close to anyone in the family apart from mom"it's been good ,stressful yes but manageable nothing I can't handle" I said to him looking straight at him with a schooled expression on my face."that's good to hear",. "Wow would you look at us together as a family finally, doesn't it feel great". Mom asked," yes it actually does I may not show it much but I actually miss all of you even dad" I said and everyone laughed "just like the old days I was starting to feel like we were drifting apart"Alen said ,"not on my watch" mom interjected,"well with that said I will like to ask ari to be my test subject"Alen said with a grin," nope not happening never", "Please,it will be fun it's a time machine imagine all the things you could change please", " ask mum ,tracy,dad anyone please not me"" it will be fun",he begged "Alen take your begging out of the dining table"dad said with a frown on his face"sorry dad"Alen said. At this point I was so happy that dad stopped Alen I was so not in the mood for that.
