Love Trap

Celine POV   Pain, so much pain, so intense! I walked through the rain, water drippings all over me. Tears from my cheeks were no longer visible, numbness is all I was feeling now. Can’t even feel the cold water striking on my skin.   Who could have thought that seems to be perfect relationship will end up into betrayal? Hundreds of knives, no almost like million knives are stabbing me through my chest, my heart, my soul... and no one can ease its pain. No one, even the best anesthesiologist could never formulate an antidote that would cure me from this pain.   Crying my heart out I found myself seating alone on my apartment drinking and sulking. I was about to surprise Jacob, my boyfriend for almost three years as I came to his place but it hit me like a blow when I saw him on his bed, naked... banging wild into a woman on his bed.   Their heavy panting almost shot my eardrums down. ‘Why did he do this to me?’ I asked myself looking for an answers, until he saw me standing there.   "You’re selfish!", "I have needs!" those are the words that keep running through my head, those are his sick excuses why he cheated on me. Lame excuses!   I fished out my phone in my bag and dial my best friend's number, on the fifth ring she answered it.   "What's up, girlfriend?" She cheerfully asked.   "Hey! Uhm...how are you doing?! Can you come over to my place?" I asked her trying to sound okay for her not to worry.   It's been a while since we've seen each other, she's a doctor an Obstetrician Gynecologist while I'm a Pediatrician. We use to work on a same hospital, until she was assigned to work to a different place.   "Is everything okay? You sounds upset." One thing I couldn't hide from her.   "You can say that." I answer as I'm trying to think on how I will drop the bomb on her.   "So can you come over? I really need you right now." I start tugging the hem of my shirt as I wait for her to agree on me.   "I have 3 scheduled operations lined up for today but if you really need someone's company then I'll try to take a leave, let say next week." She instantly said.   "Oh, it's not necessary! I can just wait for you to come over when you’re available." I told her but she insist on it.   After an hour, I hear a knock from my door. I was hesitating to open it as I thought it could be Jacob, I still can't face him right now. It will just fuel my boiling anger at him when he give me another of his crap alibi.   "Celine?! Are you there?" I heard a familiar voice from my door.   "Who's that?" I asked as I open my door and reveal this gorgeous hunk in front of me. My hands instantly flew around his neck as I embrace the man that I haven't seen for such a long time.   "Muffin, I missed you!" I said clutching on him, I feel safe as he place his hands to embrace me as well then I felt something on my cheeks, warm liquid flowing from my eyes down to my cheeks. I can't control my tears as they come rolling.   "Hey! Is that how you missed me?" He chuckled.   Blake Anderson, is the closest guy friend I've ever have. Some thought that we were dating before due to our closeness and has been rumored that we broke up once he left New York for him to study in California. This didn't affect us though but somehow lost our communication due to our busy school schedules.   "I'm sorry! I'm just too upset that I want to talk with someone then suddenly you came in. Oh by the way, how did you know my place?" I asked as I wonder how he found me after almost 4 years without communications.   "I have ways dear..." He said.   As we walked into my living room, he saw the bottles of beers that I've downed on my coffee table. He gave me a confuse look, because he knows that I'm not drinking alcoholic drinks.   "Are you with someone in your house?" He asked as he slightly scanning the area.   "Nope! I'm the one who downed those bottles." I said earning a concern look from him. He sit on the sofa and pulled me to sit too.   "You must be really upset for you to down those beers. Damn, will I got to watch a free strip dance later from you? What a good timing!" He said shifting my mood to a lighter one.   "No! But if you wish to, why not..." I bravely said and send him a wink.   "Okay. What is going on through that pretty head of yours?" He asked and I started to narrate.   Pulling me into a hug, after a long cry, sob, sniffing and all I found myself a little too drunk. No, I think I was really drunk. I could no longer get myself on my own feet.   "He's not worth it. Stop crying over that asshole. If all he wants to do is to get into someone's pants, he must not have to get himself into a relationship. Be a freelancer..." He said.   "Yeah, just like you. Take me instead, I won't trust anyone anymore. What's with s*x that you guys couldn't get off of yourself?" I voiced out, feeling my world spinning I attempt to stand but failed and landed on Blake's lap. He chuckled seeing me in this drunk state.   "Honey, seriously if you want me to take you, you better be hundred percent sober for you to enjoy it. And I'll be honor to answer your inquiry by demonstrating it to you." He’s just joking on me right?   "But for now, let me help you get into your room, sleep and rest for now. I promise, I won't leave you." Then he led me to my room and tucked me to bed. Whispering soothing word until I got into a deep sleep.
