Narrator’s POV---
Mathew changed and joined Max in the living room.
“Good morning boss!” Max wished curtly, his face cold as usual.
Mathew just nodded and sat on the sofa gesturing Max to sit opposite to him. Then sighing he asked again, “I know Max, you said the job is completed successfully and discreetly, yet I want you to tell me again, is Alicia safe and well?”
Max parched his lips once and considered the question which was slightly different this time! Mathew has asked n number of times if the job was done the way he instructed or not, or if it was done very cautiously and discreetly, or if Alicia was safe when Max left her or not, but he never asked until today if she was well or not!
