Chapter 7 The following day Linda decided to play it cool. She wasn't going to let on one moment that she was troubled by the phone call she had early that morning. For when she had returned from being at the motel with Craig the phone had rang and a voice had said, "So you're finally home." And then the line went dead. Linda was pretty certain that voice had belonged to Marjorie Peterson. "You got in rather early, didn't you dear?" Marjorie Peterson asked smugly. "What's it to you?" Linda replied. "Plenty, dear. You forgot to fill in a couple of reports on patients. "I had to do your work. I just wanted to let you know that I would be forced to mention this on your evaluation sheet." "I know how sorry that makes you," Linda replied. It was making her more disgusted every second.
