Chapter 2   Linda hurried down the ward. She knew that she would be late to get back to the front desk. When she did, the head nurse gasped, "Why has it taken you so long?" "I'm just starting here," she said, "and I have to get my bearings." "You'd better get your bearings quick, honey," the head nurse warned, "or you won't last long. Everyone around here has to carry his weight." That really burned her up. "Let me tell you something," Linda said angrily, "I've always been a hard worker.
