Chapter Three - Smitten for a moment

1693 Words
Lucas’s P.O.V The workday had come to an end and what a fun day it has been. I have sat on my ass most of the day, trying to ease the hangover while Olivia has been working hard. My dad hired her; I am going to make sure I use her. Plus I had enjoyed my day annoying and teasing her. It was too easy to get under her skin. I don’t know what my dad was thinking. What makes him think someone like Olivia can help tame me? I will eat her alive and have her under my spell in no time. If my father wanted someone to try to calm me down, he should probably have hired another guy, a sensible one or at least a female that never looked like Olivia. What does he expect when he hands me a gorgeous on a plate? He knows me better than anyone; he should know I was not going to let her be. I have three months with her, and I am going to use it well. “You ready to go find a dress?” I asked, appearing in front of her desk. “Yeah.” She said, looking up at me. “Well hurry up, we only have a couple of hours to find one. You better not be one of those girls who take hours to decide what dress you want or I will just pick it for you.” I said. “I am not one of those girls.” She said, rolling her eyes at me. “Good. Let’s go.” I said. I hated shopping, the sooner we get this over with, the better. The two of us grabbed our things before heading out to my car. I climbed in, Oliva following me. I hope she was not expecting me to open the door for her that will never happen. I switched the music on, Dance music coming loudly through the speakers of my red Ferrari Sergio. I like my car fast and loud, what other way is there to have it? “Oh My God, would you turn that damn thing down,” Olivia shouted over the music. She is twenty- two years old, why is she acting like she is an older woman? Who does not enjoy loud music? She should love this, getting a ride in a car like this baby I have. I never listened to her. I  kept the music at the same volume, Olivia went to reach over to put the music off, but I stopped her before she could, making her glare at me. “Don’t touch,” I thundered over the music. “Well turn the darn thing down or let me out.” She shouted back. I screwed my face up at her, cursing under my breath and turning the music off. “Thank You.” She said. “You are not welcome,” I said, annoyed. Olivia glared at me for a moment before she turned away from me, looking out of the window. Well, this car journey is going to be awkward, thank God it isn’t too far away. I need to teach this girl how to have fun. “We are here,” I said as we pulled up outside the dress shop that I was taking her too. It was to get put on the company’s account anyway; she never had to worry about paying for anything since it was a favour for my parents. Olivia never said anything to me, she climbed out of the car, and I followed her. “Are you seriously ignoring me?” I said, catching up with her. “Yes,  Lucas I am ignoring you cause you have done nothing but piss me off and be rude to me all day. You are lucky; I am not a complete b***h. If I were, I would make you go to this thing alone tonight.” She said in a huff, blowing the hair out of her eyes. It was funny watching her try to be mad; she does not do it very well. I chewed on the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing. I failed. I was soon laughing at her. I could see her getting madder, the more I laughed at her. Olivia, throw her hands in the air, letting out a frustrated groan before storming off. “You are so damn annoying.” She said before walking into the dress shop. I chuckled following in after her. I found her standing, looking around in complete awe of the place. I am guessing she was not used to seeing all these dresses. She turned around, now only a couple of inches away from me, she never realised I was right behind her. “Can we go somewhere else? These all look too expensive.” She said nervously. “Nope, we are staying here. It will get charged onto the company’s account, stop worrying.” I said, turning her back around, leading her further into the shop. It was clear to see that she was feeling uncomfortable. As we entered, we were greeted straight away with the management. “Good evening Mr Black, what can I help you with?” Sally greeted me with a sexy little smirk on her very kissable lips. “Evening, Sally. I am looking for a dress for Miss Gomez here. She is my plus one for a charity event tonight since my parents couldn’t make it.” I smirked back at her. Sally knew my family well, any events my mother needed dresses for she came here, and she has attended events as well. She has helped with charity fashion shows my mother holds every year. Plus her and I had a little thing last year after one of the events, my parents never knew they would kill me. They would probably fire her since she was older than me by nearly twenty years, it wouldn’t go down to well, especially with my mother. “Any particular colour, style, length?” She asked. I looked at Olivia, who seemed to have no clue what she was needing. “Can we have a couple of gowns and dresses? Blue, Purple and red. Nothing too short but also nothing too long either. We will need shoes and handbags to, to match.” I said. “I love a man that knows what he wants,” Sally said winking at me. “Oh, I know you do,” I said, winking back at her. “Eww,” Olivia said, walking away. I sort of forget she was there for a moment. Sally and I stopped flirting and went after her. She was walking around, looking at dresses, not saying anything. “What is wrong with her? Is she your girlfriend or something?” Sally said. It came out louder than what it was meant too, Olivia stopped on track, turning around to face us, looking annoyed. “There is nothing wrong with me. I am here to find a dress, not hear about you two doing God knows what. And no, I am not his girlfriend or something. I have more sense and more respect for myself than that.” Olivia said. I think we were both taken back with her. I was not expecting that from her. “Yes, you are. I apologise.” Sally said. “No, it is OK. Sorry, I never meant to be rude, just been a bad day with him.” Olivia said, nodding at me. I shrugged it off, not caring she was having a dig at me. The conversation was forgotten, and we got to try to find a dress for her. *********** We had been here an hour, Olivia not being able to decide which one she wanted. I thought she was not once of those girls? I was getting annoyed and bored, the event started in two hours, and we still had to get ready. I had spent my time flirting with Sally, arranging to hook up at some point, the two of acting like we were behaving anytime Olivia came out with a dress on. “I will give you a text later.” She whispered. “Looking forward to it,” I said winking at her. We heard Olivia moving, pulling away from each other and looked up at her. She walked out of the dressing room, and my jaw about hit the floor, my eyes went wide. She looked beautiful, like a princess, maybe not quite but in that line somewhere. The dress was a beautiful baby blue strapless, it hugged her curves beautiful and stopped above her knee. It was like it was made for her. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. “What about this one?” She said shyly. “Wow! You look incredible in that dress, Olivia.” I finally managed to stutter out, letting my eyes trace over her entire body. “Really?” She said blushing. “Really.” I said, walking towards her, “It suits you perfectly. You will be the Belle of the ball.” I smiled at her. I was not sure what was happening with me, but right now, I was finding myself slightly smitten with her. “You look beautiful.” I hear from behind me; I forgot Sally was there. Olivia turned around to look in the mirror at herself. I watch as she smiles when she sees herself, making me smile too. I think she was surprised at how good she looked in it. Olivia turned around to face us. “I think I finally have my dress.” She smiled. “Thank God.” I laughed. Olivia went to take the dress off as I paid for it along with the shoes and bag; that way, when she comes back out, we can just head straight out. “We should go, we don’t have much time left,” I said as soon as Olivia was in front of me. We said our goodbyes to Sally heading back out of the car to get on our way. She gave me her address, and I directed her way. “Thank You.” She smiled. “Your welcome. I will be back to pick you up in about an hour and a half, OK? I need you to be ready.” I said. “I will be. See you soon.” She smiled.   Olivia rushed into her apartment, and I headed home to get myself ready. I was dreading this event tonight, hate events like this it is full of judgmental idiots that like to take digs at me about my behaviour, getting on at me cause they have never seen me with a girlfriend. It did my head in. I had to bite my tongue around them in case I made things worse for my family. I don’t need to cause any more trouble than what I already do.
