JACK I wash my face in the bathroom sink, grabbing a towel to dry myself off. The scent of Erin still permeates my senses. I use both hands to brace myself and look in the mirror. Dark strands of hair fall over my face, and I use my wet hand to push them back. There are subtle lines on either side of my eyes and stubble framing my jawline. In the mirror I can see Erin sleeping in my bed, the blanket only covering her lower half as she lies on her stomach. My eyes roam over her bare back. She has no tattoos, her skin a blank canvas I could write lyrics on. My bare feet pad quietly into the kitchen where I grab a cigarette and take my phone with me to the patio.
