Prologue
It had been a peaceful day in Sněhový Motýl, a peaceful Zima day.
Too bad that it wasn’t going to stay that way.
For one family; the Ježek family, the tenth of Říjen was meant to be a happy occasion for the head of the Ochrana Unit.
His wife was giving birth to twins; a baby boy and a baby girl.
The fact that Karolína was pregnant, along with being the holder of the Sin of Wraith, was kept secret from their friends and teammates.
The seal that kept the Sin of Wraith in Karolína’s headspace could be weakened in childbirth, meaning that both Karolína and Alexej had agreed to keep the birthplace a secret.
With only the midwife and the Vůdce Vesnice knowing.
Jindřiška and Zikmund Ježek were healthy.
Jindřiška and Zikmund Ježek were worth the nine months worth of secrecy, pain and the fear of the Sin of Wrath breaking the seal.
Neither Karolína nor Alexej would be allowed to enjoy the moment for long.
A man wearing a mask arrived, kidnapping Karolína and almost killing her children. Alexej barely stopped the man from killing the twins and Růžena -midwife and Vůdce vesnice’s wife-
When Alexej had the twins in a safe place with Růžena. She promised that she’d keep an eye on them until he returned for them.
Not much is known about Alexej’s movements are known after that. Růžena knows that Alexej and Karolína returned for the children after Sněhový Motýl had started to be attacked by both the Dragon of Wraith and the Fox of Greed.
The Voják and Ochrana of Sněhový Motýl tried to keep the two of the village.
Most ended up dying.
The attack seemed like it went on for a lifetime for those who were fighting it.
Until a large Ural Owl showed up.
Alexej and Karolína on the Ural Owl’s back, both were carrying a baby in their arms, not that those on the ground could see the children.
Alexej didn’t want to do it, Karolína didn’t want to do it. They weren’t left with many options, not if they wanted everyone in Sněhový Motýl to live.
Alexej and Karolína wanted their children to live and grow.
Jindřiška and Zikmund Ježek would always come first.
Always.
Suppose anyone was asked about what happened, civilians, Voják and Ochrana Units. None of them would be able to tell you what happened that night.
All they could remember was a bright white light.
Along with Karolína and Alexej Ježek had died that night.
Many don’t know about the two children.
