Gutter Rats
Tobias woke early and looked to see Rhaven stirring from sleep. "Didn't even hear you come in," he said.
Rhaven looked to Darstan. "Rahg said you had a cousin in the guard, Darstan. An officer?"
"As far as I know, but I've never met him."
"Tobias is going to take you to see him. If the assassins have someone watching, it might give them pause to see you with an officer of the guard. And I might need the extra time." He started for the door, then, almost as an afterthought, turned back. "How is the shoulder, Rahg?"
"Better. Much better. Thanks."
Darstan smiled and nudged Tobias. "He sure complained about it earlier."
"Come on, Tobias, let's go eat," Rahg said.
"Warm your backside while I shave, lad. Won't take me long."
