The bathroom, while smaller than he was used to, contained at its centre a large, square sunken bath. Exotic flowers floated on the perfumed water and two naked men, both with towels folded over their bronzed, muscular arms, waited to one side. The room was full of potted palms and was lit by dozens of candles. Overhead was a hole in the roof, affording Pan a glorious view of the dazzling night sky. Once the guard had delivered Pan to the bathroom he turned and disappeared the way he had come.
