Chapter 36

I stepped out of the washroom after having a long bath wearing my black bathrobe. I heaved a sigh of relief knowing that I’ve handed the blue pearl to Demeter which means that she will be safe and protected from any harm. Now I’m assured of her safety. I need to have fun. It's been a long while, I thought, sitting on the long couch. I pressed the bell beside the vase and a guard appeared immediately, “my lord” he bowed. I glanced at him and instructed him to get me a bottle of wine from the wine cabinet, I relaxed my back on the sofa thinking of many ways to have fun since Demeter hasn’t remembered her past life and she is not letting me come closer to her. “If Lysander was here he would have many ways to make me happy” I asserted while letting out a groan. “Lysander is still the best, although I have already found a temporary replacement they can’t even do anything compared to Lysander.” Having changed Lysander’s replacement twice, I hope that this one would be better till he returns to the east palace. Soon the door was flung open and Lysander’s temporary replacement Aragon walked in, he placed the wine on the table and bowed. “Send the head chef in” I ordered, “yes my king” he muttered and dashed out of the room. Soon both the head chef and Aragon arrived, I waved my hand dismissively at Aragon, he left afterward. “The brunette that entered my chambers in the morning, who is she?” I inquired with a face void of expression. “Oh, Cassandra. She is one of our new workers that is representing my assistant” he responded. “What made you think you can bring anyone in the castle without informing me?” I asked with a harsh tone, he shuddered and fell to the ground, “I’m sorry my king, I thought that it’d be fine if she replaced her sister since she is not working here permanently” he pleaded as he explained the need for the recruit. “Head chef Nicholas, this shouldn’t happen again! Recruiting palace workers without my acknowledgment” I warned, he nodded trembling. I hissed as I had no time to witness this whole mess, “you may now leave. Don’t even think I’m sparing you, I haven’t decided on your punishment yet” I waved my right hand with a gust of wind circling him. I sent him back to the worker's quarters and rang the bell again. Aragon appeared shortly “how may Aragon be of your service my king?” He asked with a bent head. “Host a trf dance, I want it to be the most erotic trf dance. Remember, you have to invite influential men and women of Pontus” “Right away my lord. When do you want the trf dance to take place?” Perfect replacement for Lysander I thought, he doesn’t question my order, he is all the things Lysander can’t be. I instructed Aragon to host the dance tomorrow morning, he looked bewildered, my king isn’t it too soon? I won’t be able to invite all the influential people in Pontus” my face turned gloomy. “What did you say, rejecting my orders? You know the punishment of disobeying the king. Scram” I ordered and he took to his heel, suddenly I remembered something. I'm hosting this dance just to be able to spend time with the brunette, “stop!” I ordered before he reached the door, I snapped my finger and the special invitation I prepared for the brunette appeared, “give this invite to the brunette girl” “Yes,” he nodded and took the invite, and left. If he can’t even host a TRF dance out of the blue then he is not suitable to replace Lysander. I thought, taking a sip of the wine Aragon sent, although the girl isn’t anything like the old Demeter, something is drawing me to her and I would explore without looking back. “Don’t be foolish Damon, isn’t your Demeter a few steps away from you why do you need the brunette?” My mind asked mockingly. “She is not my Demeter. She has no memories of her past life, no charm and troublesome” I uttered hoping that my mind would keep mute. That was just my wild guess, "keep deceiving yourself Damon, you know what I'm talking about" I groaned and used my inner energy to stop my mind from ruining my blissful mood, I can't keep on waiting till she recovers all her memories, I'm a God and I'll do things that pleases me. I stood up from the couch and strode to my bed since I can't drink without Demeter penetrating through my mind let me rest for a while, I laid on the bed and covered myself with a quilt, not that I'm covering myself because of cold but I enjoyed the feeling of a quilt on my cold skin. Slowly I drifted off to sleep, thinking of how pissed mother would be if she wasn't invited to the dance tomorrow. The next morning, I woke up by the sudden knock that came from the door, "I'll kill the person banging on my door this early" I groaned and used my power to twist the doorknob while laying on the bed, I sat down on my bed shooting daggers the direction that leads to the entrance door, abruptly Aragon walked in, I summoned my trident and sent two strikes of lightning at him, he shrieked in pain and fell the ground, "recount your sin Aragon" I asserted, watching him roll on the floor due to pain. "My apologies, my king, Aragon knows her sins. I shouldn't have come to your room without your acknowledgment" he said, still bellowing in pain, "right, now rise!" I ordered. He struggled and stood up from the floor, I gazed at him pitifully and opened my palm, an antidote appeared, "take this" I mumbled and sent the antidote to him, he uncorked the cover and gulped down the whole content immediately and let out a loud groan.
