Few hours later they finally reach their destination, Danburg Grove Woods. One by one, the kids get down from the bus and observe their surroundings. Finally, Ian and Jim's turn arrives as both of them get down from the bus and start to walk up to the rest of the kids.
Ian recognizes the woods but couldn't seem to remember how. "This place, it looks familiar." said Ian. "Usual horror movie spot, it always looks familiar." replied Jim. Just then Anna approaches the coach. "Sir, I thought we were heading to Lakewood Forest." said Anna.
"Um yes but, there was some last-minute changes due to the heavy winds, apparently this is one of the natural reservations that was unaffected and close to us, don't worry, this is much better." said the Coach. "But isn't this where Alexandra family was last seen?" asked Anna.
"Yup, right before they went missing, who knows? Maybe we'll bump into one of them." said the Coach as he pats on her shoulder. "Alright, gather round, now." said the Coach as he blew his whistle.
"Now, I want to have a proper team building exploration exercise and that means no sneaking off, no setting the trees on fire and definitely no phones!" shouts Coach while looking at one of the students using her phone.
Just after his response, the kids start yelling at the coach loudly. "Alright! Settle down people." said the Coach. The kids stop right after he responds, then continue the yelling. "People, manners please, just because we're in a forest doesn't mean you get to behave like animals, cut it out!" said the Coach. "Excuse me Coach, but what if I get lost? Without my phone how will I find my way back?" asked Anna.
"You won't, as long as no one is sneaking off and stay together, we'll be fine." said the Coach. "But coach, what if we..." said Anna before getting interrupted by the Coach.
"Your point is noted Anna, which is why you'll have these." said the Coach as he takes a suitcase he has been carrying on for a while on to his forearm and opens it as a bunch of children's smart watches reside inside. "You kidding got to be kidding me?" said Claire while folding her hands.
"Come on, move it people, hand over your phones and grab these devices." said the coach. One by one, the kids start handing over their phones and taking one of the smartwatches in exchange. Moments pass as Ian's turn comes and he hands over his phone and takes the smartwatch and wears it while walking to Jim who has already worn it and keeps tinkering it.
"Seriously, what are they thinking, we're educated teenagers not kids." said Jim. "I just would have been fine in my coach resting beside my console if it wasn't for this stupid field trip." said Brian. "Honestly, I can't believe I am going to survive an entire day without i********:, this is so unfair." said Kerry.
"This is a violation of human rights, I'm telling you, I'm going to file a complaint just after this stupid team building exercise is done." said Victoria. "Okay that's the last of it, come on people, follow my lead." said the Coach as he leads the kids through the woods while checking the direction with his own smartwatch.
Hours pass as the coach leads the team but after another a few minutes, the rest of them stop in exhaustion while the coach proceeds a few steps further in doubt. "Can't breathe." said Jim. Meanwhile, the coach looks at his watch, then at the woods, then again at his watch, seeing this, the ever-cautious Anna approaches him seemingly worried.
"Gosh what the hell is wrong with this thing, we should have arrived at the lodge minutes ago." whispers Coach silently. "Um, Coach? You're alright?" asked Anna.
"Yes, um, of course, um, what's the hold up?" asked the Coach. "We're exhausted sir, you said we'd make a stop soon." said Anna. "Yes, we will, just a few steps to the lodge and..." said the coach before getting interrupted by Anna. "Lodge? There's no lodges in Danburg Grove, especially this deep." replied Anna
"But the map, the map, it said..." said the coach before getting interrupted by Anna. "Lakewood sir? I'm guessing you still haven't changed the location." said Anna. Coach checks on his watch and realizes she was right. "Oh crap." said the Coach. "Now can we have our phones back?" asked Anna. "Okay fine, here distribute it." said the coach as he hands over a bag. Anna starts giving the students their phones back one by one and finally gives Ian and Jim their phones. "Here you go." said Anna.
"Great hamburgers, what changed his mind?" asked Jim. "The coach literally lost it, but at least we have our phones back." replied Anna. "What do you mean he lost it?" asked Ian. "The field trip was actually supposed to be on Lakewood Forest but coach decided to come here, the mysterious yet deadly Danburg Grove." said Anna. "Deadly?" asked Ian. "Wait, mysterious?" asked Jim.
"You guys don't know? Many people who came here have gone missing, no reports, no search parties, just shush." said Anna. "I knew it, this is when the person who brought us here was actually a psychiatric serial killer who picks off his victims one by one." said Jim.
"Seriously dude? The coach would make a lousy serial killer." said Ian. "But it's the one you least expect." said Jim. "I don't think I'll expect him at all." said Ian. "Still surprising to see this place haven't been affected at all." said Anna.
"By what?" asked Jim. "The high winds, every other place is affected except for this one, okay see you guys soon, have fun with your phones." said Anna as she leaves the scene. Both of them turn on their phone and find themselves shocked to see no cell service. "What? You gotta be shitting me." said Jim. "At least the battery is 80%." said Ian. "Alright people, gather round, again." yells Coach.
The students start to gather round. "This is what we're going to do, first I'm going divide you into teams, then I'm going to give you tasks to complete, before I tell what it is, let's start with the team first." said the Coach as he opens a book and start team division. One by one he starts enlisting the students into teams. "Victoria, Lenny, wait Jenny, you're with Jacob, Saza." said the Coach.
"Sasha!" yells Sasha. "Right, Sasha and Michael, you're with Fatima." said the Coach. Moments pass as the Coach finishes enlisting the team and explaining tasks. "Team A, you're on conservation and restoration of natural habitat, Team B, you're on fisheries and wildlife reservation, Team C, Cave conversation research, Alright that's it then." said the Coach as the ones in the team enlisted in the team prepares to leave. "Wait a second, what about me?" asked Claire.
"Seriously Claire? Let me rephrase it, what about us?" asked Griffin.
