27Ghost the cat was waiting for me when I got home. As I pulled up and parked the red Hyundai at the DeeLite Efficiency Motel, I saw him pacing back and forth outside the door of my room. His bright green eyes flashed in the beams of my headlights. When I walked to the door, he went straight for my legs, rubbing his white-furred body against them. He purred, and I could feel the soft rumbling through my jeans.
