Chapter Thirteen

3286 Words

Chapter Thirteen I managed a fast walk and managed two miles in about thirty minutes. Then I had enough time to head back home, shower and dress, and pack up Fitz in his carrier to head over to work. As Linus and I had mentioned, it was already pretty crazy over there, but then, it was summer. A lot of folks liked coming into the library just to cool down when the days were hot. I had a hard time finding a place to park, which rarely happened. I let Fitz out of his carrier behind the circulation desk so he had a little time to acclimate before anyone rushed up to pet him. But he didn’t seem to need this time as he hopped out of the carrier, bounded around the desk, and trotted right over to a group of cooing teen girls. He looked as fetching as he could, which was mighty fetching indeed.
