The anger that sparks in his eyes makes me think I am in more danger here in the open than alone with him in the forest. “What are you staring at me for?” Alarick grunts as he stops at arms' length from me. My mouth opens and closes as I try to find the right answer, but nothing comes out. I am left dumbfounded and, despite the cacophony of questions and thoughts I had, I had nothing to say to him.
