Part 7 I went to the kitchen and started helping Nadira Bi. Though I was so hungry and I didn't know how to or whom to request food, ughh, my baby's small stomach wants food. "What happened, umm?" Oh, she didn't know my name. "Sharanya," I said, and she nodded. "What happened, Sharanya? You are looking disturbed. " She questioned me softly. I said, being a little embarrassed. "Umm.. actually I'm so hungry and I didn't even have lunch." "You don't need to get embarrassed. I'll give you cookies," she said, making me smile. "Here have it." She took out a few cookies for me on a plate and gave them to me. "Thank you so much." I thanked her and was about to take a bite, but the plate was snatched away from my hand. "You dumb girl, you are here to cook, not to eat." It was Anusha Ma'am. "And Nadira Bii, why did you give her these expensive cookies to eat, huh?" "Ma'am, she was." Nadira Bii tried to say but Anusha Ma'am cut her off, "What she huh? She can't have these foods. If she is hungry, she can have food later from the servants' quarters but not from here, "said Anusha ma'am, turning towards me. "You aren't here to enjoy luxurious things, you are just a normal servant, so do your own work and oil on your own wheel," and she left. I wiped the lone tear which had escaped from my eyes and looked at Nadira Bii, who was giving me a pitiful look. I smiled sadly at her and started helping her again. After some time, "Sharanya, the dinner is ready; can you handle it because I have to leave for my home, where my husband and children must be waiting?" Nadira Bii asked. I assured her, "It's OK nadira, I'll manage," I assured her, and then she left. With the help of other butlers, I set the dining table, and then the servants left for the servant quarters. They sat for dinner and I served them, praying to Ayyiappa that they finish their dinner so that I could have something. "Why are you standing there? Go to the servant quarters. You will get your food there." Anusha ma'am said. I didn't know anyone at the servant's quarter, and Nadira had already left. Still nodding, I went out and walked towards the backside of the mansion. I stepped in, and they were all having dinner. "Can I get something to eat?" I asked, stuttering a little, grabbing their attention. "Sorry, we didn't know that you were coming today and we don't have extra food today." One girl, who was older than me, said "It's OK, no problem," I said, and walked out. I wiped my overflowing tears; it's just a start; Sharanya, you have so many things to bear. It's OK Sharanya It's alright, Sharanya, you won't die if you don't eat for a day. I took a deep breath and stepped inside the mansion, looking down. They were still having dinner. I didn't say anything and went to the room where they told me to stay. I couldn't say it was my room because I didn't have any rights. I sat down on the couch facing the window. No one asked me if I had dinner or not, not even Neil Sir, though I didn't expect anything from him still, I had no one with me..no one to complain to; no one to ask for something. I was alone. I found a jug of water and a glass. At least there is water for me. I drank a glass of water and started looking outside the window. Why this hunger? God please make me sleep so that I can forget about my hunger. ______________________________ Neil's pov. Did she have her dinner or not? But I think she didn't as she stepped inside the mansion after five minutes of going out to the servants' quarters. I think I should check on her. Wait, what? Why should I? She was a cunning girl, and still I was thinking about her. I tried to help her in every possible way, but all she wanted was to marry me so that she could get my luxury. Let's just check on her. She must be enjoying her new room with a wardrobe full of expensive clothes and all the expensive makeup, even new phones and laptops were placed in the wardrobe. I walked towards her room and was about to open it, but stopped. How could I just step in without knocking? Damn, Neil Ahuja. I knocked on the door twice and then stepped in. My eyes wandered around her room, and I found her sitting on the couch facing the large window. The lights around her were dim, and I couldn't see her face as she was looking outside. Her long hairs were falling on her back while her hands were shining in the moonlight. "Sharanya," I called her, and she turned towards me, looking at me with her innocent eyes and then looked down. Innocent huh? She wasn't innocent at all. A few hair strands were falling on her forehead while her puffy cheeks were glowing in the moonlight and her pouty lips looked more pink. "Sharanya, why didn't you sleep yet? You finally got the luxurious room and even the bed is really soft and comfortable," I said, as if I was mocking or taunting her. She sighed then looked at me, "Sir, please not today. If you want to shout at me, taunt me, or anything, then please do that tomorrow, but not now sir. I am so tired today." Her voice was just like a mere whisper. It was like she didn't have any energy left in her. I didn't say anything and turned to leave. Just then I heard her murmuring something to herself, but I heard it "Not for once he asked me about food." She didn't have dinner, but Anusha told her that it was time to go to the servants' quarters for dinner. Oh yeah, of course, Madame wants delicious and tasty food, not that servants' quarter food. "You went to the servant quarters for dinner, right?" I asked again. "Then you didn't have your dinner? You aren't a royal queen of somewhere, and of course that's why you don't want the servant quarter-made food," I said, chuckling a little, and she looked at me while a tear escaped from her eyes, her FAKE TEARS. She also got up from the couch and looked at me. "Yes, I did go to the servant quarters for dinner, but there wasn't extra food for me. They hadn't cooked anything extra for me." She said, looking at me with her teary eyes. "And I didn't need your delicious food, sir. I am thankful to my God for everything he gave me, though I am a little angry today that he didn't give me lunch or dinner, but it's OK, I know he planned something best for me." She sounded like a kid when she uttered those words. That means she just had breakfast before coming to Mumbai. After that, she didn't have anything. She must have been lying to gain my sympathy. "You are lying right" I asked, and she chuckled. "Yes sir, I am lying and I just know I am lying. Now can you please leave. Nope, actually I should leave. After all, it's your house only. Should I just go and sleep on the lawn?" "Sleep only here," I said as I exited her room. Promo "Sharanya, what are you waiting for? Go to the servant quarters and have your breakfast," said Anusha Mam while sipping orange juice. "Sharanya, sit here and have breakfast with us," said another voice as I turned to leave.
