Episode 10- Party Planning

After our shower, Luca carefully placed a towel around my body. I grabbed another one and threw my hair up in to it. I walked to Luca’s closet and asked if I could borrow some clothes until I could get all of my things moved to our new room. He chuckled and reached for a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. 

“You look cute in my clothes” Luca commented after I had dressed. 

I felt my face get hot with embarrassment and I shyly turned my head. I looked at my watch and saw it was already 11:00. I hoped Mrs. Beasley had some food left over from breakfast. I walked down the stairs of the packhouse with Luca’s hand in mine. I noticed several members of the pack staring and people seemed to be whispering. I didn’t care. Let them whisper. I was now the proud mate of the most beautiful man alive. They could say whatever they wanted about his past. I wasn’t about to give it a second thought. It wouldn’t ruin this time for me. 

As we walked in the kitchen, Mrs. Beasley wrapped me in to a long hug. “I knew you would find each other. I am so happy for you, Elina. You know I think of you as one of my own and I am so glad you have found your mate. You two will have gorgeous children! When are you wanting kids? Soon, I hope. I would love to have some new little ones around to spoil!!” 

“Whoaaaaa, there. I can’t say that we will be thinking about that any time soon. This is all new for us so we are just taking it one step at a time and just trying to enjoy this time with each other. However, I do appreciate your enthusiasm!” I replied. The sentiment was sweet but there was no way I was ready for children! I barely could take care of myself! Nonetheless a child! Plus with twins running in our family, there was a good chance that I could have two at once. I just was not even close to being ready for that yet. 

Mrs. Beasley smiled in understanding and grabbed us some pancakes and bacon. She served our plates across the large kitchen island. “I saved you these because I figured you would be down late today. The first night together is usually very exhausting,” she winked. I felt my face again burn with embarrassment. 

“Yes, it was a late but wonderful night.” Luca stated as he put his arm around my waist. “Thank you for the food and for thinking of us, Mrs. Beasley.”

“Of course, my dear. Be careful with this one, she’s special.” Mrs. Beasley said admiringly. 

“Oh, believe me. I know. She is one of a kind. I couldn’t imagine getting any luckier.” Luca said with such care and kindness in his voice. He really did seem to love me. Hopefully, he didn’t change his mind. 

My mother entered the room and I jumped from surprise when she started speaking strongly.“Well, I see you two have gotten close.I’ll say it is about time. I wish you both nothing but joy. Now that that’s out of the way, we need to discuss your dress for your brother's coronation. It is in two days and I need to make sure everything is in order. This is the biggest night of your brother’s life. However, he doesn’t seem to be at all interested in the party details. He’s been up in his room with Leah since your birthday party. They haven’t come out at all. They have even ordered food in. Seeing as she will be this pack’s next Luna, I need to speak with her as well. I need to make sure she knows what she is getting in to and see that she takes this responsibility seriously.”

“Mom, I am sure Leah knows. She has grown up with us. She knows what is expected and I know she will be a great Luna.”  I stated.

“Aw, you really do love me, huh?”, I heard Leah’s voice say. I snapped my head around to see her standing in the doorway to the kitchen dressed very similar to myself in Alex’s clothing with him entangled in her arms. I could see the fresh mark on her neck. They didn’t waste any time. Part of me was kind of grossed out but I tried to push that aside and just be happy for them. I am glad they found each other.  

“Well hello there you two. I am so glad you could both join us. We need to make some plans, Alex. Your father also wants to meet with you alone and then meet with both you and Luca. I will speak with Leah. There is a lot to do and you all have the rest of your lives to play house in your room. After this coronation, you two will take a tour of our allies packs and make yourself known as the new Alpha and Luna. That will serve you like a honeymoon of sorts so please, save it for then.” My mother clearly seemed to be under stress. She always worried when we had large parties where our pack and members of other packs would be there to judge. She never wanted to seem weak and wanted to portray that we were a strong, united pack. This was our reputation and it was very important to her that it was upheld. 

“Mom, don’t worry. Leah and I will go shopping today while the boys meet with dad and we will find our dresses.” I tried to reassure her. 

“Okay, Elina. That will be fine. However, I want you both to look the part of queens so choose wisely. I would like to see what you have picked and if we need any alterations done, I will have it sent to the tailor. The sooner the better.”, my mother replied. 

I was going to hate being away from Luca. I did want to find something phenomenal to wear though. I wanted him to be proud of me. This would be our first official event as a couple. I wanted it to be perfect. 

“I guess we will get started then.” I leaned over and said goodbye to Luca with a kiss. I asked Leah to join me in my room to change and get ready to go in to town. 

As we walked up the stairs to my old room, Leah locked her arms in mind. I could tell by her smirk that she wanted to know every detail. I was excited to share but also didn’t really want to know my brother’s intimate details. This was going to be an interesting conversation. I just had to be an adult and suffer through it. It wasn’t fair to spill all my juicy information and not let her do the same. We talked as we walked. This was nice. Maybe a day of shopping and gossip was exactly what I needed!
