It was already dark when Elisse got home. She took a hot shower and changed into comfortable clothes. She sat in front of the couch and turned on TV to watch the news. While flipping through channels, she heard her phone ping. When she checked it, she saw that she had 10 text messages and five missed calls from Eric.
She wasn’t checking her phone earlier since she was driving. She read through the text messages, which pretty much read the same. Eric wants to meet up with her to talk and explain himself.
Elisse thought of how to respond that will make Eric realize that she’s absolving him and that he did not have to explain himself.
