Over the next couple of days, Elisse continued her week-long training. By Thursday, she was well-versed with her daily tasks and did not need a lot of guidance anymore. Her day consists of managing Matt’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, sending reminders and follow-ups to fellow employees and vendors. She also takes lives messages in case Matt is not available. He hates checking his voicemail.
She hasn’t had a video call with her boss again after the first day, and they have been communicating through e-mail or chat mainly. With an hour left on the last day of her shift, she was surprised to get a video call request from Matt. She panicked a little since she was wearing glasses instead of her contacts. She didn’t think he'd be calling out of the blue.
