Elisse thought she was hearing things when he heard the caller introduce himself as Matthew Kim. Not wanting to get scolded just like the last time, she decided to respond right away nd said, “Hello Mr. Kim, how are you?”
He didn’t respond to her question, and said “Have you been checking your e-mail?”
“I haven’t had the chance. May I know why you’re calling?” Elisse decided to sound professional and not act like a hurt child just like the last time they talked.
“Well, you applied for a job at my company, aren’t you curious whether you got hired or not?” was Matt’s response.
Elisse noted how he emphasized the fact that it was his company that she applied to. He was being an arrogant jerk, but not as obvious.
