(Alexander's POV)
After my talk with Elizabeth, I headed for the live in boarder, pretty much where it marks where we live, I wasn't expecting what I arrived to, everyone was watching this pile of rags on the ground when it didn't move they let me know, and I went in with some of my guards to my surprise, it was a person, and to make the surprise bigger, it was Aaron unconscious he looked really beaten up, and it made me feel worse to think I let him go and they did this to him. He was alive and breathing but he also felt cold to the touch, we needed to get him back, and I let Elizabeth know and she came out to meet us, I saw the life return to her eyes, as she ran toward us, and laid her wolf body on top of the boy, she kissed him and just didn't want to move.
I had done this to her, and I felt like it hadn't been bad. They abandoned him for a second time, and this time if they dared return for him, I would act accordingly. Carefully I picked him up and took him to the town, to Beth, she did everything she could to make him comfortable, but would have to wait for him to come to. Otherwise, he was fine, Elizabeth came to sit with him and later that same day I got back to the boarder, to welcome our guests.
It was about 9:00 p.m when we finally saw someone approach, three someones.
Once they were close enough they took their hoods down and walked closer.
"Cora, welcome, I hope you had a pleasant trip."
" Alexander, darling, it's so nice to see you again!"
She came and kissed both my cheeks as I did her, she's French. A habit that I have gotten use to. Cora was one of the youngest but old vampires, she was created years before my birth, but not by much, she's adapted well, to the modern life and enjoyed it greatly, a lot of the others hated her for being a woman, with a strong clan behind her. I guess sexism never really dies.
She was a great beauty, but behind that mask, was a real predator. Like a Venus flytrap, beautiful but deadly. I lead her toward the Tahoe so we didn't have to walk the distance, and she and her guards climbed in.
"Now darling where is your mate, I have heard about a strong woman to a strong male, could make a powerful couple."
"You give us too much credit, Cora, but thank you for the compliment."
"You know I've always admired how humble you are when it comes to power, darling, and it suits you well, but embrace it."
I just grinned at her, this was a talk we've had many time before and I wasn't surprised it was coming up again. Once at the house, the kids were waiting outside, as was everyone else, except. I mind linked Marsha and she explained Elizabeth was still with Aaron, making sure he was comfortable before she came home. I nodded but didn't point it out so I introduced everyone as we stepped out of the Tahoe and headed inside, my little Eve had eyes as big as saucers, and she came over and hugged my leg, while Tomas like always had a studying look about him, and Eden stood by Jon.
"Daddy, is she really a vam-aire?" she asked shyly and I picked her up.
"Yes, sweet heart but she won't hurt you, want to say hello?"
Eve looked at Cora and seemed to relax.
"She's really pretty." she whispered like nobody else could hear her.
"Thank you , child, you are quit adorable yourself, I can only imagine your mother's beauty."
She said it but I could feel how she felt envy, for our children. Then I saw the kids' heads turned and Eve squirmed out of my arms and they ran toward the road, everyone else turned.
"Mommy!" as the girls ran toward Elizabeth.
"Hey, my girls!"
She picked them both up and walked toward us. Elizabeth has never really known how much she shines, as a Luna and her presence was like a beacon, even if in these past few years we haven't been okay, I felt like a high school boy seeing his crush, but I had to remind myself that she was mine, already.
"Hi everyone, I'm guessing I'm running a little late to the party."
"Mommy, mommy, they're vam-sires!"
"Vampires, so I heard, well do come in and get comfortable, welcome."
We got inside and showed where they were staying. Cora was happy with her accommodations. She said they were good on food they had hunted before arriving.
"I do hope not to find bodies out in the forest."
Cora laughed, but it was humorless, but she did mean it as such.
"Darling, I'm vegan, you know I don't drink from humans, only animals."
I nodded.
"Do let me know of anything you need, and welcome again."
"Oh, Alexander, I will be able to join you in the morning, I have made the arrangements to do so."
"Have you, should I be worried?"
"No, but I will be having both of my guards with me," she walked up to me and kissed my cheeks a little more sensual then usual but I had to grin, Cora, has always tried her power on me, but even back then when she was on human blood it didn't work.
"Good night, we'll see you in the morning."
"Of course, Darling, good night."
I walked back up the stairs and just before I reached the corner I smelled her, Elizabeth. I smiled sourly to myself, I bet she saw my little interaction with Cora. Right now after all these four years I couldn't bring myself to care, it was about time she felt something. She's been so focused on Aaron and hasn't forgiven me for letting him go, and seeing him now she might've been right, but that didn't give her a right to hold it against me all this time.
I got to our room and jumped into the shower, I needed to calm down, but after a while I could feel her standing behind me. I only focused on getting clean, then she actually walked into the shower with me. I could tell she was forcing herself to come anywhere near me, and this was exactly what I've been dealing with all these four years, boarder line r****g my mate, but I couldn't do it anymore.
"Leave." I told her.
"What?" she asked shocked at my order, because it was the first time I had ever ordered her to do something, using the push of my power.
I turned to look at her in the face, ignoring the smell of her heat, that called to me.
"Get out of the shower, Liz, I need room to think."
She looked so taken aback at my reaction, but she listened and got out of the shower. If she left the room, I wouldn't be surprised. Once I was done, I got out and was surprised to see her still here, I ignored her, and got dressed. Then laid down and fell asleep.
(Elizabeth's POV)
I had gone down to see if our guests needed anything and found the Woman all up on my mate, I would've grabbed her head and slammed it into the wall, but what really got me was that Alex didn't move away he even smiled at her. I couldn't stand there and watch, so I left, after that I wanted to see what he would do if I went to him, but he rejected me. Was this the start of our relationship going bad, could werewolf relationships go bad? All I knew that this was my fault, I had ignored him and placed guilt of something he couldn't change, now I got Aaron back but was losing Alexander. To a freakin blood sucker.
I fell into an uneasy sleep, but the damn heat pain was unbearable. To my surprise Alex was so deeply asleep, I couldn't even get him to help me.
"Would he want to, it's not like you're enjoying it with him, you just use him!"
I gritted my teeth as I remembered how he would take the time off to be here with me, and he'd alleviate my pain, but I always let my wolf to deal with him, now I was feeling stupid for pushing him away. I got up and went into the bathroom and filled the tub with cold water, and stepped into it. I swear I could hear my body sizzle as I stepped into the water. Now however I was so sensitive everywhere, including between my legs. I hadn't done anything to pleasure myself but that was because I preferred the real thing, no toy could measure up to my mate, and just thinking was getting me hot again.
"s**t!" I whispered I gritted my teeth a little, but desperate times called for desperate measures, I listened to see if Alex was out of bed, but he was actually sleeping soundly, so very slowly I let my hand wonder down between my legs, and lightly teased my bud, and it sent my body ablaze with heat, like throwing gas on a dying flame. I teased and rubbed until I felt my release, which made my heat got down, and the pain ebb slightly. I listened again Alex hadn't done anything, but shifted in his sleep. Carefully I got out, dried off, and looked in the mirror. How long would he be mad at me? I wondered but I realized I had been holding the grudge against him for four years so it might not be forgiving me any time soon. I sighed and put my clothes on, then back to bed. Fearing what the next few days were going to look like.
The next day I got up early and headed to check on Aaron and to my surprise Alex was up and showing Cora around. I felt the twist of jealousy in my insides, but I had no right for now, I went and checked Aaron and looked down at him, he had grown so much, his hair use to look blond now it was light brown, and his features were sharper, but then again he was thinner. My little boy had grown up, I ran my fingertips across his forehead and suddenly his eye flew open.
"Aaron?!" I stood up and was about to call for Beth when he screamed at me in a ear piercing scream.
"Liz, what the ..."
She quickly gave him something through the IV and he was back to sleep. I uncovered my ears which were still ringing, and looked down at him.
"What did you do?"asked Beth at me.
"Nothing I was just running my fingers through his hair he woke up screaming!"
"I think the spell you used has back peddled, he might've gone through a lot and everything rushed back."
"I hope not, poor guy."
"Look why don't you go help Alex..."
"No, I can't be near him right now!"
"Okay you know what, I'm just going to say this...Four years woman, that man has put up with your bullshit for that long, I get you missed this kid, but you do realize kids grow up and leave right, and make their own lives away from their parents, you're ruining your relationship for nothing!"
"First of all, when you have your kids then We'll talk, second I get what you're saying but I was more mad because he let those men take him away while holding me back!"
"For your own good, you can cause a war for taking kids away from their birth rights, Liz!"
"Right to what, to be ditched when ever they don't want them anymore like now, I wanted to keep both of them safe, Beth I couldn't even do that, and Alexander making it easier for them to hurt him, makes me angry!"
Beth looked at me and shook her head and looked out the window, and I could only guess who she was looking at.
"Well, you let it go too far, and if he leaves to go after her, hope you're happy with your choice."
With that she walked out and went to get medicines for Aaron. I turned and looked out the window, Cora was arm in arm with Alexander and that really pissed me off.
