Chapter 3: Apply for Personal Assistant

2149 Words
Next morning, I was woken up due to the sunbeams passing through the window. With the hand shading my face from the sun, I slowly opened my eyes. I saw a back of a woman in all white who pulled the curtains aside and she turned her head as she sensed me wake. Based on her outfit, I already guessed where I was.  Hospital... "You're awake?" She greeted me with a smile.  I lifted my body and leaned my back against the headboard. "Why am I here?" I asked, examining the room. It was pompous and well-ventilated. "You got your head injured." She replied while wrapping my arms with a BP detector. "Are you feeling good now?"  "Yes. Just a little dizzy and ache from my head. But I'm fine. Well, how did I come here?" "120/79mmHg. You're healthy." She unfastened my arm first before she answered my question. "It's a handsome gentleman who brought you here." "Gentleman?" I made a short recollection of who I was with last night and my memory shouted to me, 'It's him' "Was he the gentleman who has a pair of gold eyes?"  "Gold eyes?" The nurse paused for a moment as she thought and thrilled, "Yeah, it's him!" "Where is he?"  "Sorry, he left in a hurry this morning when he received a call. I think he is a busy man. Girl you're so lucky." I raised one of my brows as I repeated her word, "Lucky?" "Yeah. Because you have such a thoughtful and handsome boyfriend--And rich." "Rich? He is rich?" "Hey, do you think he can afford to pay this room and settle your bills here. Do you know how much this room is? It's worth 500 thousands pesos for a night." "What? No. No. No. I can't afford this. I'm okay now. Discharge me." I said, jumping off the bed.  "Don't worry. Just like what I said, everything was settled by him. You can stay here for long as you want or you can leave anytime you desire." My hysterical reactions made her laugh while stopping me to go out. "Oh right, he bought clothes for you to change too." I was stunned from what I heard to the point I couldn't utter even a word.  *MURPHY ADERSON* =Red-D Tower=  "What???" He blurted out in surprise along with a flunk on my table as he heard my story of what happened last night and then laughed at me tirelessly.  I took a downward glance to my table. Good thing, it was made of diamond so it wasn't easy for him to break.  "Can't you be serious?" I frowned at my brows and gave him a warning look.  Seeing my indignant expression, he went solemn. At least he did, but after a couple of seconds he laughed again even louder until he bent squeezing on his stomach due to lack of oxygen. "It would be better if you laugh to death, Dusk Holli." I cursed in a frigid way which stopped him right away. Furthermore, he was well-aware of my mood if I was already calling a person's full name. I wanted to kill.  "I'm sorry. I was carried away." He said as he rose up and tidied his blue business suit. "Ok. Let's talk business. You said you sniffed Gold Flower's scent last night at Jamaica Bridal Shop. But we are both here at that time. Although my sense of smell is not as keen as yours, it was only on the next street, why didn't I smell it?" "It's almost odorless and it was like being resisted by something." "Resisted? What does that mean?" "She has something to hide her scent when she bleeds." "Then we are like finding a needle in a haystack now. No wonder we can't find her for so long." "Don't worry. I can feel I will find her soon."  "I hope so. Because she is in serious danger now. I can feel the evil forces doubling their time searching for her. We can't let them have her first or else the world is doomed."  Dusk looked worried. He was walking back and forth in front of me and I was getting dizzy because of it, so I took a blue folder filed along with the other at the right side of my table, and went reviewing on the documents to divert my attention when the face of the girl I left in the hospital reappeared in my thoughts. I spaced out.  I found her eyes enchanting that I couldn't take off my sight everytime our stare met, but at the same time it turned me into a complete moron. I couldn't think and feel properly. I touched my chest because my heart suddenly twinged and tightened. I was lacking air and could barely breathe.  Dusk noticed me so he strode over and laid his arm on my back. "Murphy are you okay?" He acted like a concerned brother.  "Damn that woman. Just a thought of her caused me like this." I jeered between my unsteady breathing. "I think I'm sick. I have to see Guru."  Guru was my clan's doctor. My Red Dragon's Clan doctor. Yes. I was a 123 year old Red dragon. We could live long like those vampires in the movie. The 57th Supreme of the 15th generation and leaving along with humans without their knowledge. I didn't have human blood or to be precise, we didn't have human blood but we could shift into a human form through the Divine Ring. Divine Ring was made of green jade that was found in a crater of a volcano. It was discovered by my 25th grandfather and developed to help us shift into a human form when we were wearing it. "Hey, are you still here?" Dusk flicked his fingers in front of my face. His concerned look earlier shifted into a teasing demon.  I winced with a sullen face. "What? What's funny?"  He shook his head, forcing himself not to make any funny face's expression. Then later, he hesitantly spoke. "Murphy, can I take a look at the girl?" "What? Are you asking me to peek on my memory?" "Yeah. Just quick. I promise." Impatience of my response, he grabbed my hand as he said, "Don't worry. I won't steal her from you." My attention was not to my hand, but to what he just said. I, being off guard, let him do what he asked. He pressed our index fingertips at each other then a dazzling light force came, and soon after a flashback of events last night occurred.  As the light force turned off. Dusk back off, struggling to find a word to say. His mouth was huge open.  "This--this woman was such an alluring angel. Murphy you--" He didn't finish his word when I glared at him as he was about to draw close to me with excitement. "I just--I just want to remind you that - - the time is up and we will be having a couple of interviews for your personal assistant. Just--like what you instructed. Hope you succeed with this plan to find her." He stammered as he slowly stepped back through the door and ran off.  I could only shake my head watching my buddyight hand disappear from my sight. He has always been humorous with me. A thing that I was grateful for because there's still someone who could stand my temper and treated me as me not as a Supreme of our clan.  I looked around at my deluxe office with hands steepling over my mouth. Later, I walked through the window and viewed the cars and people passing by and to the roadway. My office was on the middle floor of this 40 storey's tower walled with Crystal glass. I chose this spot because the sunset has the most beautiful view from here. At least watching it released my worries. I was in the midst of pondering when I saw a familiar female figure walking towards the company's main entrance. I watched her closely to make sure it was her. It was really her, the strange girl I called Miss Bride.  My brows furrowed in confusion. 'Why is she here? Shouldn't she still be in the hospital by now? Wait. Did I really see her or there's a problem with my eyes.' "Chairman, are we going to start the interview with the applicants now?" Came with the girl's voice from the door.  I turned around and answered briefly, "Yes." The girl slightly bowed before she left while I sat back in my worth 15 million chair. Waiting for the first applicant.  A minute later, the applicant entered my office. The moment she saw me, she trembled and stuttered as she talked. Perhaps, I scared her with my cold expression and stern gaze. Same goes to the next others. I finally experienced how boring it is to do this kind of stuff. But for my main purpose, I had to. When the last applicants stepped out from my office, I checked the time on my watch and it said 1:30Pm. No wonder my tummy has been growling. I took my phone on the table and called Dusk and I stood up facing my back on the door as it rang.  "Hello?" Answered him.  "Bring me lunch." I demanded. "I thought those beautiful ladies could make you full." He joked.  "Two minutes."  "Hey---" Tot!-- I just ended the call when the door suddenly grunt as it opened after three consecutive knocks. As I turned my head, the face that was constantly haunting my thoughts appeared in front of me. I really thought earlier I mistook someone else as her so I was quite surprised seeing her in my office.  Her expression was somewhat surprised too but later, her face cleared up and smiled at me, showing her evenly white teeth.  'Did she recognise me?' I saw her mouth say something but I didn't understand one of the words she said. I was gone deaf with my own emotions. I just looked at her blankly with my hand glued on air, holding a phone. Behind my expressionless face, I unnoticeably examined her. This woman was undeniably pretty with her light make-up. She was wearing a white pants and a close-neck black sleeve under the white coat, making her look fresh and confident.  "5 minutes." Dusk shouted abruptly as he was rushing to my office, holding two boxes of food.  Blessing in disguise, his loud voice awoke my sleeping soul. "You are three minutes late." I said and glanced at him, hinting something. Seeing that I had an unexpected guest, he brought the food on the mini-table at the corner and sat crossed legs. Watching us with a meaty smile on his lips along with a dirty wink at me. I glared at him then faced my so-called guest as I sat on my chair. "May I help you?" I asked indifferently.  "Hello Sir, I came here for an interview." She answered in tense. I could hear her fast breathing though she looked fine.  "Are you sure you didn't come to the wrong place?"  "Yes. I inquired and they pointed me here." She walked over in careful steps and handed me her documents.  I accepted the documents but I only wedged it under my arm. "Are you aware of the time Ms--?"  "Wavina Javier. I was sorry for coming late because--"  I raised my hand to silence her as I said. "Stop! Look, Ms. Javier, I will be frank with you. I don't like you. Now you can leave." She smirked, "What kind of interview is this? Are you really having a job interview or playing a game? She drew her face in me and ridiculed, "Or maybe shopping for beauties." Before I could react, she stepped back and turned around, "I won't force anyone to accept me."  "Your files." I called her when she was about to leave, ignoring what she said because I was the kind of person who didn't care what others thought of me.  "Keep it as your souvenir. I will junk that anyway." I gaped, processing her word in mind. 'Junk? Is she saying my company is a place for junk?'  I was about to open my mouth when she added, "Oh, you looked even better without contact lenses." I followed my sight on her leaving figure, breathing in relief. 'She's finally gone.' I mumbled.  "What was that about?" Dusk asked seriously as he was confused walking near me. He shook his head as I just looked at him emptily. "Tsk! Tsk! You will regret this later." "I never did things that I regretted after." "She will be the one to make you experience that."  "Nonsense." I faked a laugh. "Don't you think she is weird?"  "You are the weird one." He stretched out his palm at me. "Give me." I raised my eyebrow, "Give you what?"  "Her files." Dusk went to Wavina's file and read the contents of her personal information right after I handed the folder. "Name Wavina Javier, 23 years old---------father Robert Fuentez, mother Mana Fuentez, graduated--"  "Stop!" I exclaimed along with a hand sign as I heard the name of Wavina's mother. My heart was disconcerted. 'Did I hear it right?' "What is her mother's name again?" Dusk re-read the name, confused. "Mana Fuentez." His eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at me, he realised something from the name like I did.  "Gold Flower!!!" We exclaimed simultaneously.
