Chapter 18: Jealous?

*MURPHY ADERSON* "Task is done!" Dusk tossed the folder on my table right as he came in.  I picked it up and went on the documents inside but there's nothing special in it. Based on the information, Amila was really Wavina's sister and they even shared the same birthday. How could this be? Their birthday was next month and they were going to be 24. The day in which no matter how Wavina hid herself, her blood scent would certainly emit in the entire city. So it was a risky day for her.  "Is there nothing else?" I lifted my brow on Dusk.  Dusk shook his head on me as an answer. I slightly bang the folder on the table. "Impossible. We clearly know that there's only one daughter of the late Gold Flower Mana Fuentez. How could it be there's two?" "Why not check it through DNA if they were really sisters. If they are, then the news we received before was wrong. And we need to protect them both." Dusk smiled.  "Then do as you said." "Good!" Dusk clapped and said, 'Yeah!' like he just won in an Olympic game.  "I am ordering you Dusk to do this task seriously. Don't mix up your personal goal with this matter. If the mysterious connection of Amila with Gold Flower is not yet uncovered, you are not allowed to flirt. Or else, you handle these piles of documents and I will go investigate." Dusk sat on the couch with his arms spread, lying on top of the couch backboard and left ankle resting on his knee, forming into a 4 position. He stared at me, faking a serious face. "Don't worry. I am not that unprofessional." Then he gave me a cheeky wink. "You know I hate paperwork. So, I will surely give you a satisfactory result."  My lips stretched into a straight line as I picked out another document that needed my attention. "You already said that last time." KNOCKED. KNOCKED. KNOCKED. The door said.  "Miss Javier, come in!" Dusk replied on my behalf. Since we left her house yesterday, I hadn't talked to her even a single word yet. Maybe, she thought I was ignoring her. Well, I was just preoccupied with the thing between her and her sister.  I didn't know actually what to feel if there's really two Gold Flower which was too impossible to happen because every descendant of the Gold Flower's kind could only bear one child.  It might be sound unbelievable but it was true that after they gave birth to one child, they became infertile. That's why when they got pregnant, risk of miscarriage and labors time were high. So they had to be taken care of well when they were bearing a baby in their womb. For this reason, it was already enough to conclude that it's impossible to have one more Gold Flower in the same generation. "Mr. Aderson?" Wavina called, furrowing her sexy-curved brows.  I just realised while deep in my own thoughts, I was actually staring at her. I immediately transferred my sight to the documents, pretending I was busy. "Tell me again what you just said." She was silent for a while, observing me which only made me feel awkward. She cleared her throat before she spoke, "Your dinner appointment with Victory Group is to--"  "Decline it!" I cut in without second thought. This dinner with them tonight would surely be about asking me to invest or cooperate with their company. There's a lot of time for that. At this point, I didn’t have the mood to attend such dinner invitations.  " This--are you--" I could sense Wavina's voice today was a bit sad. Why? Was she sad that I ignore her the whole day?  I sneakily glanced at the time on my watch and it said that in 10 minutes, work hours for the day had ended.  Because I didn't say any more words, she could only sigh audibly to end further conversation. "Right away Mr. Aderson!" "What was that about again?" Dusk frowned. He was just silent earlier but as Wavina left, he immediately interrogated me. "Murphy, why do I feel you are avoiding her? I overheard from the gossip of her workmates, you ignored her since this morning. Or shall I say you were too cold to her today. Why?"  "No reason." "Are you planning to stop your feelings for her?" Dusk sat properly and looked straight in my eyes. "What feelings? When did I say I have feelings for her?" I refuted. Still pretending busy.  "Okay. It doesn't matter if you don't admit. Actually it's fine for me. That way, I won't worry you are unable to control your love excitement. But…… I want to ask you something? If… Just if..We all know that Wavina's ex-fiance is still trying to get her back. What if Wavina forgives him and decides to be with him again. What are you going to do?" My body froze after hearing what Dusk said. "That won't happen!"  "How sure are you? For you to know this morning, I accidentally ran into Amila with a guy having coffee outside the coffee shop. I thought he was her boyfriend but actually not. He wadms Wavina's ex-fiance. They didn't notice me so I heard clearly their conversation. - -"  "Why are you telling me these?" I could no longer hide the irritation in my voice.  "You don't want to know? Then forget it!" Dusk stood up to leave. "Tell me what they talked about." Whoaahh, what was just I asked? Seriously I was curious.  "The guy said, he wanted to pursue Wavina again." Dusk stopped and faced himself on me. "Then what was Amila's reply?" "First she splashed water on his face. She was angry of course for hurting her sister. But eventually she said, if Wavina forgives him, she won't object if it was her sister's decision." "Wavina won't forgive him!" I clenched my fist just imagining it. I didn't want Wavina to be back with that guy.  "Who knows? What if after the guy sparing no effort for her forgiveness while you treating her coldly, it's not impossible for them to be together again. Moreover, we're not sure if her love for her ex-fiance was already gone." "Stop mentioning that bastard on me!" I yelled. It seemed jealousy arose in me because my heart was like going to explode and it felt badly hurt. No. Wavina couldn't be with that guy again. I won't allow it. Later, my body trembled like I was turning into a zombie. It hurt, tormenting my head and flesh. Shockingly, half-conscious of it, my body just subconsciously zoomed off from the table and trailed Dusk strongly against the wall like a thin paper.  I pinned Dusk's neck against the wall with my arm which gradually suffocated him. "Murphy, you are out of control again. You even don't know me now. Murphy, let me go. Look, your contact lenses were slowly melting. Are you going to burn me alive?" Dusk was struggling in my arm.  "Mr. Aderson, what are you doing?"  Wavina's rushing voice came in from the door.  Dusk raised his hand to stop Wavina. "Don't come over. We were just having a joke." Cough! Cough! "Joke. Why it looks like he is going to strangle you to death." She walked near us and referred to me by shouting. Her voice has a hint of fear and shock. "Mr. Aderson, he is Dusk. Are you going to kill him?" Wavina's yell was like a sound of a thunder in my ears which coincidentally helped to cool me down and pulled back my sanity.  Thanks God!  She was there, soothing me through her voice. I closed my eyes as my hand slowly loosen off from pinning Dusk. "Give me the sunglasses from my table." Quickly, Wavina ran toward my table and grabbed the black sunglasses and hand on me without saying a word.  "Why did you come back?" I asked her with my only back facing her. She scratched her head or scalp maybe. "I want to ask if I can go home now since the work hours are up." I turned around, observing her with the sunglasses on.  I said, referring to Dusk but eyes on Wavina. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it." Then I sighed in a sorry tone as I put my hand in my pockets. "Forget about the plan earlier, Dusk. I just came up with the best way to clear our doubts. Let's go. Take her home."
