Since she was on high school, she met a unique man--which everybody hates. He was very impulsive and unpredictable--careless who is insensitive with others' feeling, as well as his own which leads him to fell in love with daredevils. He is the reason why she pursued Psychology. But that man had gone. So she lost her purpose. And then she realized that socializing with clients, as part of her job, is draining. A stainless spoon clunked as she tapped it at the lip of the teacup after stirring her hot drinks. Then she put down the spoon on the saucer and grabbed the handle to sip. "Patricia, look at this man! He's so handsome!" Her friend, Janna, excitedly came inside to her office and immediately grabbed its phone to browse the picture after landing the hips on the client's chair. Patricia rolled her eyes. "I get it, your brother sent you here so I could check up your mental health," she said and followed her words with a sip of tea. Janna sighed and give her a tiger look. "You're so bitter, I think you're the one who needs a check-up. You're a psychiatrist, I can't understand why can't you treat yourself." While drinking, she noticed someone unfamiliar went slowly to her office. "Enough of the tantrums, I have a client today." Janna turned to the door to confirm if there's a client. "Oh," she responded and slid her chair towards the wall to give them space. Patricia is annoyed by the sound of metal scratching the ceramic tiled floor. But she still managed to give the client a warm smile to make him comfortable with her. "Good morning, how can I help you?" The man who sat in front of him didn't bother to look at her, instead still looking down on the floor. "It's my ex." It was an emotionless tone but tears started to run to his cheeks. "Actually, she's a bitter person." "Janna." She warned seriously. "I said better, a better person!" She stood up scratching her nape with an awkward smile while stepping back towards the door. "See you later, crazy girl!" And she was gone. "Forgive my friend. Please continue." The client finally looked at her with downcast eyes. "She's missing." Patricia almost yawned at what she heard. "Maybe they just moved outside this town to start a new life with his new boyfriend without telling anybody?" She guessed. "I hope so." He looked down again. "It's been 2 years since we broke up. Then I already found another better person. But when I heard that she was missing last week, It's like... I... I still love her. And I'm so worried." Patricia nodded and acted as if she felt deep sympathy for the client. "What should I do? How can I move on?" She cleared her throat. "You know, it doesn't mean that you broke up, you'll have to forget and felt cold to her. Of course, you shared your dreams and memories so there will be an intimate feelings that will form from each other. You may not be a lover anymore, but you have developed a love for the sake of your friendship." She emphasized the word friendship. And wildly smiled to remove her boredness. "You're right!" The client was convinced. "I need to find her." Then he stood up to grab his wallet from his pocket. Patricia waved her hands. "No thanks, it was just a piece of small friendly advice. I just need you to log in to my record." She took the record book from the book rack on her table and lend it to the client. The client signed his name "Jonathan" and thanked her before he has gone. After that, her face shifted to a blank expression. She needed to take a recharge. Lunch break, she and her friend went to the food park. It was sunny yet the breeze is cold due to the near winter. They were under the shade of the umbrella cottage where Patricia is sipping her cold milk tea while Janna is having two large burgers. Janna is done with her first burger, so she started to unwrapped her second one. She was about to bit when she suddenly remembered her friend. "Do you want this? It's all yours." She lent her burger to a friend. Patricia shook her head, "Nah, I'm good." "Are you crazy?" Janna exclaimed. "Morning: tea. Lunch: tea again. Look at your body, what are you, a skeleton queen tea?" She appreciated the concern of her friend, also, her tummy started to growl. "Okay, fine." About to grab the offer, she was surprised by what she saw. "You already bit it in a half!" "Hmm? I thought you don't want it." Janna innocently asked. But really, while scolding her friend she was already started to eat. She thought that she couldn't convince Patricia anymore as this is how she knew her friend. "Just buy over there. Also, don't forget mine." Patricia's eyebrows crossed each other. Wondering how her gluttonous friend still very sexy. "Why are you starring at me?" Patricia lent her hand, "Your payment." Janna quickly withdrew her pouch in her pocket. After looking for nothing, she looked at her friend with cute puppy eyes plus a pouty lips. "For free please?" She then blinked her eyes several times. "What in the world you need to take three burgers in a row?" "I'm working out, remember? I have a schedule today!" "Ah, gym, okay." She whispered to herself and started to move. She fell in line. To distract herself from waiting, she began to observe all the people surrounding. As usual, there are happy, lovers, depressed, hideous, hypocrites, and she hated of all, narcissists. Before she shifted her judgemental eyes, she thought of checking if she had enough cash. Then, her next victim made her eyes widened. It was a tall man who is greedy drinking water. Some of the liquid overflowed from his lips, slowly ran through his complex skinned neck, to Adam's apple, and into the chest. His upper body is already sweaty but became wetter so her vision can penetrate the perfect lean body. That wasn't the qualities that made her curious, but it was his blue eyes--the only type of eyes that she can't read. It was emotionless, so as unpredictable. Why is there a kind of people? It's been a few seconds before she realized that the man had already responded an eye contact. Her heart pumps heavier and faster as she quickly removed her sight to another direction then turned back to the line. It's already out of her peripheral vision, but she felt paranoid from sensing the man coming in her way. She wanted to look back to confirm her instinct, but what if he was watching her then made another eye contact. "Next customer, please." Finally, it was now her turn. She's about to tell her order when she suddenly felt something hot and heavy tapped on his shoulder. Before looking at who is it, she's hoping that it wasn't that man, but when she does, she was shocked. Hiding from showing the signs of panic, she made terrible acting. "Oh no! I forgot my wallet!" "Here. You dropped it." She was speechless. What kind of effort is walking from afar just to pick up the wallet that is dropped just a half meter beside her. She's out of excuses to run. "Thanks." Then he has gone. When she came back to the cottage, her friend greeted her with an angry look. "Why took so long?" "So many customers." She told the truth. Janna didn't argue anymore and just took her burger. The break is over, she went back to the office while Janna took a leave for a gym. It was already past 5 pm so she's about to close her office. But unfortunately, a girl with long black hair came inside her office. She was wearing a black sleeveless leather jacket, and leggings coated with glossy black paint, black earrings, and a black necklace. Black bangs covered her eyes. But when she got nearer, Patricia finally saw the deep suffering from the despairing eyes. Long eyelashes are brushed up with mascara.
