Chapter 15: Somewhere to Hide

Fenn needed somewhere to hide until they could make the appointed time to open the Shimmer. It wasn’t safe to stay this close to the river. Will Grant and the team would find them, Fenn was sure. They had waited, still, kias drawn tightly around them, as Will and Sedman had grumbled and shouted and finally left the warehouse where the egg had been lying. Then Fenn crept out, careful of the egg.
It wasn’t anywhere near hatching, a small mercy in a task that had so far afforded none.
