10 years later (2045) Catalina’s POV I wake up early, Andrew is still sleeping next to me. His silver head of hair is disheveled against the pillow. I take a quick shower and slip on my robe. I make myself a cup of coffee and walk out onto my patio. The sun has just risen, and is still hidden behind the trees. The air is cool and crisp. It’s just starting to get chilly outside again. I spot a few sections of leaves on the large oak tree in our backyard that have begun to change color. I sip my coffee. I don’t usually wake up this early, but today is different. Today is the anniversary of the pack tragedies. 10 years ago today there was a plane crash, it was a terrible accident 64 people lost their lives. 10 years before that there was a battle. 50 wolves died. Men, women, and children.
