Emma is surprised by Aaron's attitude when she sees him in the same restaurant.
“I’ve come to have lunch,” she says.
“I didn’t think you would come to this restaurant,” he replies awkwardly. Emma feels annoyed because he is trying to avoid her and hasn’t even invited her to his table.
“Who is she, Aaron?” Lucia asks, while Emma waits for her husband to introduce her.
“She’s someone I know; I’ll tell you about her later,” Aaron says, glancing at Emma and silently signaling her to leave. Emma feels her heart sink as she smiles at him and the woman accompanying him.
“I’m leaving. It was a pleasure to see you,” she says before heading to the door, where she can watch them, for better or worse.
